couldnt disagree with you more.. most of the people who have a good upbringing assume people are fucked cuz their shitty parents, i had a tough upbringing, worse then i would bet most on the forum and im loving life and would never do anything fcked up like that, that being said, some of my friends, easiest life, on track, very proper people are some of the must wild people that will do the stupidest shit and their parents have been there for them guiding them in a proper direction their whole life...

people make choices themselves and their actions are not to be blamd on others

One of the men charged in a bizarre crime that left an 18-year-old man with second and third degree burns to his body has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

A lawyer representing 20-year-old Mathew Sweet-Grant entered the plea this morning at the Kelowna Court House.

The incident happened at a house party on Dec. 8, when the victim passed out on a kitchen floor and was set on fire after a flammable liquid was poured onto his back.

Sweet-Grant will make his next appearance on Feb. 4, after a pre-sentence report and a pysch report has been completed.

The other man charged in the crime, 18-year-old Josh McWhirter is charged with aggravated assault and will be back in court on Jan. 8.

Both men remain in custody at the Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre, the victim remains in hospital.

I kinda agree with you but I also don't. There's no way anyone could possibly explain a specific behavior because there are sooooo many different influences that we can't even think of. So you can't say it was a result of shitty parenting and you can't say it wasn't a result of it either.

Nothing is 100% but there definitely is a correlation between doing fucked up shit when you're older as a result of trauma suffered during childhood.

Matthew Sweet-Grant Convicted and Sentenced to 18 months jail, and 2 years probation:
Kelowna man who lit friend on fire sentenced | News1130

Quote:

KELOWNA (NEWS1130) – A man who lit his drunk friend on fire at a Kelowna house party and filming it has been sentenced to 18 months in jail and two years’ probation.

Prosecutors were calling for 20-year-old Matthew Sweet-Grant to spend six to eight years behind bars for the assault that an 18-year-old in hospital for two months with third-degree burns.

Ragnar Haagen with Castanet.net has been following the case and says the practical joke has angered a lot of people.

“I think everyone was quite surprised, whether it was a joke or not. It seems the defence is trying to pawn it off on kids watching TV, or that they’ve done it before with their group of friends,” he tells us.

Sites like YouTube are flooded with videos of similar pranks, but this one left a man permanently disfigured.

Haagen says Sweet-Grant has recently turned 20. “He is small for his age and I understand he has also been getting a lot of flack while he has been in remand.

Sweet-Grant pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. A psychiatric evaluation was also ordered..
Sounds like someone is going to be prison currency!

+1 life experience?

The kid that was set on fire works at my family restaurant. He's back to work and in good spirits, his range of motion is pretty limited. The people that committed the crime got off way too easy...
