With the extra DLC civs being like 1.75 per I picked up each of those. Babylon is without a doubt one of my favorite civs now (free Great Scientist w/ discovery of Writing, 50% faster GS development) If you can pull off a rush to Great Library, National College with a turn 25 or so Academy down, on lower difficulty levels you'll end up using artillery vs swordsmen and on higher you'll be able to stay even technologically.

twitchyzero 12-29-2012 05:16 PM

here's a nice site that shows pricing history...generally when something is 75% off it's at its lowest price.
note this is only steam sales...there could've been a better price via GMG/Amazon

Yeah, I always go for Great Library, National College unless I'm playing humans (it's pretty easy to get GL against AI, but you really need to get lucky with your start and finding ancient ruins that increase population if you want to get it against humans since almost everyone goes for it).

I only play on Marathon, though, so 25 turns to anything decent is nearly impossible LOL

Presto 12-30-2012 05:27 PM

The 85% off Civ 5 deal on GMG is for the expansion, and you'll still need the base game to play. Anyhow, Civ 5 is still $7.50 on Steam for the next 7 hours, so you can still get it there.

KingDeeCee 12-30-2012 09:58 PM

Haven't played multiplayer yet, but I enjoy getting the other victory conditions. Conquering seems too easy and sometimes fast. Trying to get a cultural or scientific win on the harder difficulties are intense.

Bought FarCry3 2 days ago, sees it on Steam for 25% off the next day. :fuuuuu::fuuuuu::fuuuuu:

I got a $5 Amazon promotional credit when I bought the Bioshock pack for $5, during the Christmas sale. The promotional credit is valid from Jan 1 to Jan 31, on their Editors Choice games. Some games/bundles have discounts, so that $5 could make a significant difference. I bought The Darkness II for $2.50. It looks interesting enough to throw a few bucks at.
