Fitting on a alternative tire size

hey all

i had winter tires for a previous car, but ended up selling that and getting a new car. just wondering if i can fit the winter tires on the new one

dimensions for current car: P215/55R/17
dimensions for winter tires: P235/45R/17

any input is appreciated!

You should be okay. Keep in mind that your speedometer will read faster than you're actually going because the new winter setup will be about 1" smaller in diameter than the previous OEM measurements (assuming the previous is OEM)

ur speedometer will read faster than ur normal speed. i.e. if ur car is going 100km/h, ur speedometer will be @ 103km/h coz the profile ur using(45) is 3% lower than 55. u can activate ur tcs or abs easily when u accelerate faster.

with the tires on i likely won't be travelling any faster than i usually drive. espeically if it starts to snow.

anyone know of a shop that will do this for me? preferebly in lower mainland/burnaby area.

the 235-->215 difference won't be much?

corner of hastings and victoria is the place i usually go to. $10up

its over 3% difference. which is not recommended but its up to u.

Like I said, you'll be switching to a setup that's 1" smaller in diameter. You'll be fine.

It'll be ok, But remember to try to keep overall diameter with ~3% of stock.
