Does anyone here know if Rogers are capable of unlocking Bell? Or only Bell an unlock Bell phones?
And is there anyone here who work for Bell?

Only Bell can unlock bell. I've tried to unlock my wife's iphone with rogers that she got from work and they told me I can't unlock it unless I am the original contract owner of the phone. They said it is done that way so a stolen phone can't be unlock, I would think Bell would have the same policy.

You could go to a third-party unlocker and see what they say. Depending on where the phone was originally gotten from (rogers, bell, telus), the prices vary.

It's going to cost you $200 or more to unlock it. Why is it so hard for you to understand. Just sell it and buy another one

99% of the time it's always buyer beware with a used item sale. But in this case I think the seller should return the money to the buyer.

It was advertised as an unlocked phone. But the seller agrees that the phone is actually locked, even if he did it accidentally. The product sold was not-as-advertised so the buyer should get a refund and the seller can resell it as a locked phone.

hello guys,
I'm just working with the seller to see if we can easily unlock it. The main thing is this is originally for xmas, and it would be a bit of an hassle to have it ship back, as of now, we are still working with Bell, however, I'm not getting a yes or any where close to that.

the seller has agreed to refund, and we are still working on other ways of unlocking it. if it doesnt work, i believe the seller is a great person which keeps his promises. :)

Thanks guys.

** Anyone here used the Gevey Sim? is there any problems or down sides of it?

Can you guys get the original receipt somehow?

Similar shit happened to my wife's iPhone4. It was a factory unlocked version from Apple store. It never had any problem with our sims until one day, it simply became locked to Fido. We went to Apple first, it told us to call fido.

Fido couldn't help because they don't see the IMEI in their system as a Fido phone. We took it back to Apple, they did everything, but still locked. Even on their own tool checking IMEI it showed locked. They took the phone, got the original receipt, and unlocked it after 2 days.

that's cause bell does not sell out their factory unlocks to unlocking companies. any bell "unlocked iphone 4/4s" are jailbreak unlocks, or otherwise known as software unlocks. something like restoring on itunes would lock it again.

however, i've heard of being able to pay bell directly as a customer to do that? probably not worth the arm and the leg that they're going to charge
