sweet ! would totally love to try it out ! |
was getting bored to stock android rom...i guess instead of trying custom I'll give this a try next month but honestly android OS (which is based on Linux anyways) meets all my needs...the only thing missing for my galaxy nexus on android 4.2 is multitasking found on the note 2 |
The problem with the Android OS is that the coding itself is very dated, and will need a major "refresh" in the near future to better compete with RIM, Windows Phone, and iOS. No matter how powerful the hardware is, the menu transitions, and overall smoothness on the Android will be inferior to that of Windows Phone and iOS (perhaps even RIM) because it uses Java. Ubuntu will be faster than Android (HTML5, correct me if I am wrong) and will bring life to legacy devices (take a look at the line of 10-year old PC that runs Ubuntu), though alot remains to be seen. In the end, competition is always good. Samsung has recently officially announced its own mobile OS that's due to be released in the near future for mobile OS dominance. Check it out. It's called Tizen. |
Looked through a review by TheVerge. Looks great, but has a bit of lag issues. Definitely going to flash it on my GNex after they sort it out and come up with a smoother and much more stable release. |
says release dates is 2014... damn... |
Reminds me of bb10 and sailfish - gestured based using native c/c++ and qml/html5 for glue. With all these new OSes coming, it should be an interesting couple of years. |
It's not just software apparently Ubun2me Ubuntu Audiocast - radio podcast show - Nacho Software audio |
