REVscene Automotive Forum - Air Canada Rouge: New "more affordable" flights to Europe/Exotic

Just a heads up to anybody looking to head to Europe or the Caribbean, Air Canada launched a new sub-brand called "Rouge" about a month ago featuring cheaper flights.

Currently it's just 4 planes operating out of Toronto and Montreal going to Athens, Venice, Ediburgh, as well as a bunch of Caribbean destinations too.

Due to a supposedly lower-cost structure, there will be savings passed to the consumer that was previously offered via Air Canada (AC and Rouge will not operate parallel routes).

From Vancouver, this awesome site YVRDeals found the following:

Vancouver - Edinburgh, Scotland $1195
Vancouver - Venice, Italy $1195

The prices are roundtrip, after taxes, and valid on departure dates between July 1 and the end of October 2013.

My first thought is that is definitely a decent price to Greece from Vancouver, especially for peak summer travel. It's certainly cheaper than all other carriers at the moment.

Not huge, but not an insignificant savings compared to previous fares.
