Local Axle Rebuilders?
 

Looking for a reputable rebuilder for OEM axles (the whole joint). I chanced on going with new Napa units but I'm getting vibration issues so would rather go with tried and true, and avoid a 3rd install.

Prefer Vancouver and surrounding areas.

I will not consider Raxles at this point because it's for my DD/beater ('97 I30) unless the pricing is comparable, thanks!

I know it says ATVs etc. but he rebuilt an axle for my MR2. Good price too!

You sure its the axle causing the vibration?

^agree. I think after the 2nd time you'd think its going to something else.
tires good? wheels good? alignments good?

Vibration-free prior to swap, despite the major clunking. Occurs between 30-60km/h and again at 120+ km/h. Really hit and miss with non-factory shafts but I waited too long to get it addressed so for sure the passenger side shaft is done.

Sorry I re-phased it poorly. I meant to say that I am willing to go through replacing them a second time but want to avoid a third time so I want to get it right :)

I had my winter tires re-balanced, swapped my summers on, alignment checks out.

Make sure you call before you go! He may have a 1-day turnaround time for a rebuild.

you sure you installed it correctly? Ive never had a new shaft aftermarket or oe have vibration issues unless installed incorrectly. Ive only ever experienced premature failure

Had my mechanic do the install and had another mechanic check it over after I brought it back - says it's fine :/

After your mechanic installed it, did he do a road test? The 2nd mechanic just verified the install? If it was on the hoist again, you should have just got them to diagnose what the vibration issue was.

If its clunking, get the front end checked again. But should have been done when you got your alignment.

The clunking was why I needed to replace the shaft.

Anyways, we diagnosed it and believe it's due to the lack of a vibration damper on the driver's side shaft on the Napa unit (the OEM unit had one).
