This thread is just a heads up to look closely at your wireless invoices this month for a $1 charge from a company called FXM Stock Tips. I know for a fact that I didn't sign up for this service (I don't even have stocks), so this irked me quite a bit.
When I called Rogers about this originally, they said they could not do anything, as it was a 3rd party service. However after doing a quick google search, it appears a lot of other users in the past 2-3 weeks (and not just Rogers) have been receiving the same charge. I was prompted to call the number to discontinue, and unfortunately there's a "this number is not available in your area" voice mail.
So I called Rogers back, got the same response, and threatened to cancel. What they did then was put a block on the 3rd party account, and made a note on my account saying that I put a block, and if I were to get it again that I would be reimbursed.
Long story short- if this happens to you, just call to put a block on the number. Hopefully you won't be bothered by them again. I'll be making a complaint to the ccts (we'll see if that helps), and I encourage you do the same if you are affected.
Edit: You may try texting STOP to *131313 (their SMS number). Multiple forum entries claim unsuccessful attempts, but bcr knows someone who did it with success. So possibly, YMMV. |
