2 pc Locking Wheel Nut Remover Set | Princess Auto

Bought these from princess auto a few years back for situations like this. Bought them on sale for like $7 or something like that

Well sheeeeee-it, I was just in Princess today, was actually looking around for something like the "rounded bolt removers", didn't find anything... BUT!!

I did grab a 12-point 22mm socket (checked the sizing on the spare locknut I have)... brought it home, went to open the passenger door of the Jeep to get my hammer out... uhhh, except where's the key slot??? FAAAAWWWWWKKKKK!!!! SOME BASTARD PUNCHED MY LOCK!!!!

Fortunately they didn't manage to actually unlock it, but still... FAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWKKKKKKKKkkkkk!!!!111! The driver's door lock is already fucked up because someone tried to break into it with the previous owner so I've been having to unlock the passenger door and reach across... now I have to go in through the back. @$%*@Q$*@$*!$)R))R)!!!@!!&@$(!$)!$!)!@)_!_!($@_%#( )%@(()*%()$((!()$!(@$(_@%(_!@!$@$@%(&!$(&!()_$%

*sigh* Anyway... managed to hammer on the new socket (cost me a whopping $2.50) and YAY!! GOT THE NUT OFF!!! Was too late to take it to a shop, so it's sitting in my living room right now.

Oh yeah... went inside and started scanning the video from my front door cam... about 1:51am last night, see a dude ride past on a bike in front of the house... then a few seconds later he comes back from the other direction on the other side of the street, rolls right up beside my YJ, and goes to work. Spends almost five minutes working on it, before giving up and riding off. Unfortunately someone left the porch light on and it's somewhat blinding the camera, so I don't have a very good pic, but I'm pretty sure it's a homeless guy I see around here now and then... if I catch up with him, he's gonna be bikeless and quite possibly going to end up needing casts on his legs.

Good to hear.

Well, the wheel part anyways.

sorry to say, but you are going to need a new tire. or at least 2. nobody is going to fix that with puncture so close to sidewall. As well, looks like a worn tire.

Soundy 01-18-2013 06:27 PM

Well, I put the spare on, bolted the flat one on the back, and booted over by Kal Tire just before closing (only tire place around open until 6??)... asked the guy to take a look, then started looking to show him the hole... and realized there's a whole ton of them looking almost the same, almost looks like the sidewall is separating.

So... so much for that tire. I'll have to make do on the spare for now, and maybe take a jaunt to Pick-A-Part after next payday. *sigh*

Pretty sure I know which guy you're talking about, although there are a couple guys on bikes riding around Pitt nowadays.

I swear, they should not let these guys have bikes. The cops most likely know who the offenders are, and they should confiscate their 'get-a-way vechicles'.

Yeah, there's one guy with a trailer that goes through the complex the night before recycling pickup, looking for cans - don't think it's him. This guy has smaller wheels on his bike.

np dude.

btw my neighbor and I took care of a couple of those bums a few years ago. luckily, they haven't come back.

Bloody hell, was gonna take the YJ to the store this afternoon, went to unlock the passenger door to let the wife in... won't unlock now, the rod has fallen down and jammed on something.

If I find this motherfucker I am going to seriously make sure he can never ride a bike again. He'll be lucky if he can sit on a skateboard in front of the liquor store to beg for coins to get his fix.
