BM Truck Sales in Surrey review? anyone know anything about this place? BM Truck Sales 8455-162nd St. SURREY, BC V4N 1B2 |
Typical fly-by-night, Kingsway-style dealership. As always, buyer beware. |
I aint selling no trucks.. dafuqqq |
brother bought a truck from them in 2011; still works and still has it :woot2: its worth it to check them out. |
I figured it to be your standard used car lot, but above the shady scammer kingsway type. All used car lots are going to be buyer beware, but some can be quite reputable. I've found about a dozen reviews mostly positive, one negative but it seemed more like a complaining customer than anything. They've got a truck Id like to look at, just not sure if its worth the drive or not. |
is this the Pacific Auto place by Kal tire. They are just up the road from me, Seen a few nice trucks come and go from there. Never actually looked into any of them tho |
I looked at a bunch of dealers out there when I was shopping for a fullsize diesel, including BM. I found many of them to have freshly painted under carriages where I could clearly see rust wrinkles underneath. In some cases the rust was already poking through the fresh paint. I called prior to going and when asked the trucks were almost always from out of province or country. After looking at 2-3 trucks on various lots I said decided they were not worth the risk. |

I've dealt with Jerry (BM Truck Sales) a bunch of times when I worked at the Kal Tire there, saw alot of his trucks .. great guy and his customers seemed to like him alot too. Most trucks there are Alberta trucks but were not undercoated (CanStar right beside BM does undercoat maybe that's who you were referring to). Worth a trip, they are not the typical used car lot from my experience .. ask for Jerry he's a straight shooter! |
I live down the street from them, lots of trucks there |
Just have the car inspected before you buy?? Posted via RS Mobile |
The thing with trucks from Alberta, especially diesel's, is that a lot of them are work trucks from up North. In the winter the temperatures up there are so cold that even with block and battery heaters the trucks won't turn over so it's common practice to leave them running constantly. So you may have a truck with 150,000km that's had the engine running for 250-300k worth of time. There's also the obvious salt/rusting issue, and the fact that riggers have cash to blow and some don't care about their vehicles because they're expendable. I knew a guy who let his truck run all the time and only changed the oil every 10,000km so imagine how much wear that put on the engine! So sure the truck will look good and seem clean but there's the possibility of a lot of major issues down the line. I'd be cautious buying an Alberta import unless you can really be sure of the vehicles history. |
Albertan diesel pickups? Good chance they've been to the mines and sands, That means they are WRECKED. |
