Recommended BMW body shop in Richmond Got into a minor accident today and am looking for a good body shop that specializes in BMWs. Yes, I did search but want a more current opinion. Is No. 1 Collision still good? Richmond Auto Body? |
MG collision. U don't need a BMW specialist - just someone who does great body work |
I once got the front of my old Vette repainted at Bismark in Richmond, and it looked fantastic. However, it depends on who does the painting there. I know of another car who had their's done at Bismark, and the result was horrible orange peel. |

Don't go to bismark, I hated their customers service/LG working the front desk. Scratched up my friend's car after I recommended them to go there. Mounting tabs for the bumper scratched up the rear quarter panel when they were re-installing the bumper (keep in mind, car had maybe 10,000KMs on it when we took it, was less than a year old, and was garage kept). They denied it, and then did a quick polish of the scratches to get us out. I think they are/were RS sponsors and that was the only reason I recommended it. |

I would suggest Bavara Autohaus. Not in Richmond, but they do offer pickup/dropoff services - you don't even have to go there! They do excellent work. Bavara Autohaus |
how about giving RS sponsor Grand Performance a try? They work on BMW and euros too. Give Victor a shout.www.revscene.net/forums/677778-hello-revscene-fellow-enthusiasts.html#post8104768 Posted via RS Mobile |

Thanks everyone. Considered Bavara but they are so far even with the valet service. Ended up going to No 1 in Richmond, hopefully they do a good job. They seemed really busy and I'll get my car back late next week. In the mean time I get to drive a base Corolla with manual windows. Estimate is so high for what looks like minor cosmetic damage and it will probably go up too :QQ: |

I've been to Bavara. They do great work. And when they drop off and pick up (with a flat deck tow truck too) who cares where they are? |
Good thread, I was searching for a thread like this. Sound like No 1 collision is pretty good, my cf rear diffuser should be here next week. I'm going there to have it install I guess. I also dislike bismark, i took my car there one time and they made me feel like its not "good" enough for them to work on. :okay: |
no 1, richmond bmw does there cars there! they do porches n stuff too |
after a bit of digging, there seems to be some bad reviews for No 1 Do not ever go to no.1 collision!! Avoid at all costs! Messed up my car!!! - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1936966 I guess it's just a roll in the dice :fuuuuu: |

They did the same thing with my friends car, they just seem like condescending pricks is all |

all shops will have the odd "bad results". eg. i have been to bismark before and have had great experience and one not so good one which had to take a few weeks to do deal with. No.1 and grandcity are good. As with anyshop, i would take precaution and note your car condition prior to bringing to the shop and then giving it a detailed walk around after. if you spot any damage or defect with the paint, tell them to fix it. |
