i had a guy in a plaid shirt come up to me at a superstore parking lot asking for some money claiming he ran out of gas.

knowing that he was bullshitting and didn't even have a car in the first place, i offered to put in 10dollars of gas for him at the superstore pump myself and than all the sudden he says he's fine now and walks away ahahaha

One time in richmond, I was on the 410 bus, and some lady came and sat right beside me. She then asked me if I was filipino, and I said yes. She kept going on about how I should understand the lifestyle there, blah blah blah blah, and that she was asking for some donation.. When I said no, she became persistent! Shitty thing was, I was sitting on the window side, so I was trapped.

Good thing I was off a couple stops away, or I would've flipped shit. (no pun intended.)

** they follow**

you : oh shit , haha i forgot its in the other side.
them: oh its okay.

rinse and repeat. sometimes i go back into the mall ... AND THEY FOLLOW ME BECAUSE IM FILIPINO .. and I buy a drink with my debit,

I've had some femanist neckbeards approach me in Downtown infront of the SFU campus

I tell them I hate tumblr.

They immediately stop talking.

lol on saturday night me and my gf went to watch a movie at metro.
came out at like 11pm, and this homeless white guy came up and asked for money.
he said to me "hey man, i went to that group of chinese boys and told them their race ain't as good as our white race and they beat me up, can you spare me some change".
I said no, kept walking and thought to myself...
Why did he ask me, I'm chinese

Bumping this thread

Was approached by a white guy today, around 25 years old at Lansdowne parking lot outside of Target. Was holding a jerrycan and saying his car ran out of gas and that the gas station gave him a jerrycan and needs to collect $12-13 to get to coqutilam. Speech seemed rehearsed and right away I remembered this thread. Told him got no change and only had plastic.

Anyone else run into him? Didn't look like a crack head and was dressed decent enough.

Yeah I think I saw a guy like this..

Was at lansdowne too and some guy walks in target and asks for $10 for gas and to borrow my phone to make a call, however he wasn't dressed that well so I told him to go to starbucks for the phone call and I said I had no change as well.

I give this lady once a ton of change after visiting my friend is oakridge. Simply because I have too many in pockets and was getting heavy.

I been approach by ppl around downtown and metrotown. Simply I just take out my headphones and starting to listen to music. They usually leave after. However there was this one lady who wouldn't leave and just keep talking even though I had my headphones on so I pretend she wasn't there. Follow me for a good minute before she gives up and leave.

If you have a car, and you have absolutely no way to get money in an emergency, ie. Credit card, debit, call a friend/family member then you probably shouldn't have a vehicle in the first place.

Should have told her there are ways to earn that money and that you happen to be an expert on those methods... and then gently take her hand and guide her over to the Target washroom. I suggest the handicapped stall for more room.

What if she gave you a random 10-digit number?

Recently saw a mid 20s - mid 30s Philippino woman loitering around Rupert Skytrain station asking people for donations and following them around after they said no. Saw the same lady a few days later around the Superstore across the street as well.

Reminds me of this episode..

I was at Subway on Smithe the other day when I saw this younger looking bum dude, full beard, with two coffee cups stacked. He got some change, lifted the first cup and dumped it in the cup below. Replaced the first cup, went to someone else and got more change. I guess people feel worse when they see an empty cup? Maybe this is an old bum trick I'm not wise to? It was the first time I had seen it..

He came inside Subway, dumped the change on the table and counted it. I was thinking, "good, this guy is going to eat with his money." Nope, right back out he went. I suppose he was a little short for his next fix.

Saw him yesterday again on Seymour near the Penthouse, same two cups. lol

Typical naive and passive asians being taken advantage by cracked out white guy, reminds me of how often German tourists are duped by the redheaded french lady down here. "Oh I just got off the bus from Quebec, my boyfriend hits me so I had to get away, I just need $10 more for a hotel room tonight..."

Crackheads become expert liars because it feeds their habit, guarantee this guy rode the Skytrain to expand his "business" to the suburbs. Fuck living anywhere near ScamTrain.

In paris theres a shit load of gypsys and gypsy families all over, cops will litterally come up from behind them, dump all the change out into their own pockets and smash the cup and walk away, because they are obviously doing this same method. Was kind of refreshing to see

Seriously... in this day and age.
You're either a scammer or homeless if you need to go up to random strangers and ask for chump change for help because of "X" situation.

I mean, it's alright if you feel bad for the guy and decide to give him money.
But don't turn around after and be like what??? you mean his BS story wasn't legit??!

My Grandpa was the best, in his old man angry voice "FUCK OFF!!! GET A FUCKING JOB YOU FUCKING BUM!!!!". He didn't screw around he got right to the point and it was effective. This is a man who worked into his 70's, he had no use for people who didn't work.

I encountered a good one and got scammed $40.

- early 20s guy wearing typical Yaletown sports clothes
- near SFU Harbour Center
- Story: claims that he was out for a run, left his wallet at his friend's place, can't go back to pick it up and in a rush to go back to Pemberton via Greyhound. Asks for $60.
- Story: tells me that he is a engineering student, showed me he's got a cellphone and ID, offered to give his number and ID, asks for my number and email so he can pay me back.

My response: I don't have cash on me (truth), but he asks me to go get cash in a bank machine in the convenient store (I was suspicious of why he knows where thr atm is). I said he could have asked Scotia Bank for cash using his ID. But he said they need his debit card... Wtf

Scammed: I went to get him $40 from another legit bank atm inside Harbour Centre.
Gave him my email to pay me back because I don't want him to get my number.

Obviously he didn't paypal me money back. Lesson learned. Trust no one. Sucks for people who actually run into legit desparate situation.
