Does your condo use electric or hot water baseboard heater? The noise in the video sounds like heating pipes expanding/contracting.

try living in new west and having your apartment window right next to a skytrain track

Pitt Meadows, 50' from the CP tracks and barely half a click from the intermodal yard. So there.

One day the Big One will hit and we won't know the difference. "That an earthquake?" "Nah, just another train..."

I win.

I lived in Pitt Meadows for 3 years AND I currently live in New West.

I also grew up under a flight path and had a bus stop next to my driveway.

I think that would be worse than living next to the train yard(which is still their fault. Train yard in place before residential development). The train yard is loud, as we can hear it up where we live, but the skytrain is often and that high pitched whiny sound.

twitchyzero 02-10-2013 01:29 PM

agreed i'd rather live by train track than skytrain...it would suck having to sit in 5 min traffic each time it passes through tho
anything beats living close to Sea Island YVR or close to a dump
(I'm looking at you Marine Gateway developement :troll:)

You can fix that by a magnet. my apartment got the same problem and the builder send someone up to install a magnet type thing on the trap door. problem all fix. quite amazing that it would still open and close when the ventilation fan on/off.
