What to do with US car in Canada my dad brought up? So my dad moved here from LA. He drove his 2001 CLK 430 up. It has a Cali plate and he is thinking of getting rid of it. The question is, does he need to take it back to the states and import it properly before selling it here or send it back to the states and sell it? Will a dealership in Canada take an American car for a trade in? |

1) take it back into the US and import it correctly 2) sell it in the states You can not trade in a car that hasn't been imported properly. |
I say talk to an insurance company and see what they say. At least they'd give you the run down on how to do it. |
Make it into a track car, only option. |
does the speedo show km/h, if it doesnt, then bring it back to the states and sell it there, new rules says you have to have km/h on the speedo not like previously when stickers would suffice |

This thread is hilarious. One of the many gems here on RS. OP, you must import the car into Canada to sell it in Canada. That's a no brainer. I suggest listing it in Bellingham/Seattle Craigslist and see if you can find a buyer down there. |
^ That's freaking smart! Lol I wouldn't have thought of it eh haha Posted via RS Mobile |
