GTX 690 or GTX Titan ? Which one would you go ? Ok...Now Nvidia GTX Titan has shown up......... But Titan is still 10~20% weaker than GTX 690 They both at same price range. In this case, What would you guys choose ? |
Definitely Titan Single GPU, smaller footprint, better power consumption, quieter, SLI's performance can be situational, microstuttering, etc |
Titan. Specifications already win it hands down. |

So, you guys go with Power efficiency. But not the maximum performance ? |
TITAN... the screen res it can go up to on a single GPU card is amazing |

Personally, I'd get neither. A $250 card is plenty for me. Posted via RS Mobile |
I'd get 7970 GHz CFX ~$300 cheaper and beats both drives 1600p intense games pretty much maxed out to be frank I think Titan is priced $300-400 too high...Nvidia is being too greedy for a non-limited edition single GPU card like the 8800 Ultra that came out 5-6 years ago with $700 price tag. |
I guess a lot of it depends on how much you mind noise. For me, a system has to be just about silent, especially during quiet periods when not gaming. Any SLI rig is going to be a LOT louder, and it doesn't scale linearly - 1+1 card is way louder than 2 cards individually. So with a pair of 7970, you are looking at 550W under load, compared to about 320 for Titan. Depending on which model, it could be extremely noisy, compared to not much sound at all on Titan... Before deciding on an SLI rig, you really need to hear it for yourself first. I was using a pair of GF560's for a while - MSI Twin Frozr Coolers are very quiet on their own, but a pair of them were REALLY loud. It was so bad that I just gave up and used a single card, even though SLI performed much better. |

We have a winner. |

the AMD cards also have zero power function where 2ndary cards basically draws no power when it's on idle. I can't hear my SLI setup based on GTX 680 reference design over my chassis fans during idle. Boy the blower styled radial fans gets very loud near max speed when I game but it doesn't bother me one bit as I play with a headphone. |
'GT 690 is better |
2 X GTX 670 for 30-40% less |
