Buying USED parts from the US? Hey Revscene, Got a question for you. Im looking to purchasing some USED engine parts for myself in the US. Im going to pick them up since its close by. Problem is, this is a private sale. Cash and carry. What would i say when i get to the border coming back into Canada? Cant really say nothing because there's parts in the trunk. What would happen then? Any help would be greatly appreciated !! |
You need to provide an invoice and you will need to pay duty + HST if it is items that are not made in a NAFTA zone. |

I used to buy stuff off Bellingham and Seattle CL all the time. Just print out the ad and email convo. |
i bought a lot of used parts from some random guys all around washington aftermarket/oem and never have any problems with d border. just mention to them that u bought some used auto parts and make sure u have the persons right name and last name and very important info would be his phone number. |
"Draft" a bill of sale with the sellers contact information on it. Example: I Bill Smith sold a cylinder head to Peter Pan for $300.00 on February 27,2013. Contact info and signatures...that's it. Also like mentioned above have the advertisement printed out if there is one. |
