If you are driving in the left lane and you are driving SLOW...Get the hell out of that lane! i tailgate and then HighBEAM people when they are Slow in the LEFT Lane. Left lane is for FAST Driver. Right LANE is for Slow cars Like YOU!!! |
markdagul: has anyone ever tried to race you when you high beam them? :lawl: |

i dunno bmwx1, but it really isn't necessary to be in the left lane if all you're gunna do is hinder the flow of traffic. I believe it was also pointed out earlier in this thread that left lane is for passing and right lane is cruising regardless of speed. |
There is a big difference between "the left lane is for going faster than the right lane" and "The left lane is for everyone else to get out of my way so I can drive faster than they all are now." My rule of thumb: When there is more space ahead of you than behind you in the left lane, move to the right. You are moving more slowly than the traffic around you. I have been travelling along the number one following a respectable distance behind cars at 110+, and have been tailgated (less than a carlength) because apparently I was moving too slowly or leaving too much space. As much as I appreciate going quickly, I am not going to put myself or other people in danger by removing that reaction/stopping distance. I will admit myself to flashing my highbeams at cars which are in the left lane but are travelling at the same speed as those in the right--usually when it is not possible to pass on the right (which is not an ideal situation, but is better than tailgating and putting people at risk). Highbeams can be used to send a little message--"hey, look up and behind you". How you choose to react to them is up to you. |
People in van are assholes and oblivious to what's behind them if someone is on ur ass step aside son. I drive in the island all the time when your get behind someone there they will move to the right when safe for you. Common sense not so common in GVA Posted via RS Mobile |
What I enjoy the most is when I let a tailgatter go ahead and watching them zip in and out of traffic for a while only for me to catch up to them at a later point and in a lot of cases even pass them by not driving like a prick. As I roll by them I may even give a look over with a smirk on my face. |
Yup. Follow too close VT. Press hard, 3 copies. No excuse for tailgating. |

For every 100 speeding tickets you issued, how many did you hand out for following too close? |
What I find funny are the ones that go in the right lane (parking lane) and gun it at every light to get ahead. One time, on Kingsway from Metrotown all the way to Slocan, there were 2 cars doing that. They'd weave in and out so they'll be first in line at the light, and take off. I'd see them at the next red light every time and they are still doing the same thing. happened all the way till I turned off at Slocan. |
