Good places to buy a laptop in HK?

Looking for a basic laptop for surfing and word processing.

Any size, cheaper the better, but not looking for something as underpowered as an Atom.

Golden computer arcade, the new side (behind the old one)

But honestly the prices here aren't as good as in Canada, and usually you don't get a good warranty. Even companies like Asus with a global warranty doesn't give as good service as you would get if you bought it locally.

In SE Asia right now and looking for something that I can get my hands on without shipping it.

Looking at laptop prices right now, it seems like a bad time to buy.

What skinnypupp said is true, the prices here seem more expensive. But when I bought my last laptop, I bought it from the Mong Kok Computer center.

Golden and MCC are way better. At least the put their prices out so you don't have to ask for every individual price (and who knows what they are going to tell you, especially in a tourist area)

Best way is to look up the prices at price.com.hk. Keep in mind that these are rock bottom "cash only" places that sell both local and imported goods, the latter of which won't have a warranty.

Yup, (though I wouldn't romanize it quite that way) and 'hong foh' for local

Prices aren't quite that cheap nowadays at MK and Golden...

But I guess it's just the immense selection that you have - I have yet to see anywhere in North America where I can actually physically play with pretty much all the laptops in say... Asus' lineup
