Guy That Broke Romney 47% Speech Did it Because Clinton

Clinton is my favorite American president.

Quote:
WASHINGTON -- Bill Clinton won the presidential election for Barack Obama. But it wasn't his masterful Democratic National Convention speech or the advice he offered the president's reelection campaign. Clinton, it turns out, inspired the man who filmed Mitt Romney's infamous and game-changing 47 percent comments.

HuffPost has agreed to withhold the name of the surreptitious filmmaker until he breaks his silence on MSNBC's "The Ed Show" Wednesday evening, followed by an appearance on HuffPost Live Thursday morning. In interviews over the last several months, he laid out his thinking before and after Romney's speech.

The man, who tended bar for a company that catered to a high-end clientele, had previously worked at a fundraiser at a home where Clinton spoke. After Clinton addressed guests, the man recalled, the former president came back to the kitchen and thanked the staff, the waiters, the bartenders, the busboys, and everyone else involved in putting the event together. He shook hands, took photos, signed autographs, and praised the meal -- all characteristic of the former president.

When the bartender learned he would be working at Romney's fundraiser, his first thought was to bring his camera, in case he had a chance to get a photo with the presidential candidate.

Romney, of course, did not speak to any of the staff, bussers or waiters. He was late to the event, and rushed out. He told his dinner guests that the event was off the record, but never bothered to repeat the admonition to the people working there.

One of them had brought along a Canon camera. He set it on the bar and hit the record button.

The bartender said he never planned to distribute the video. But after Romney spoke, the man said he felt he had no choice.

"I felt it was a civic duty. I couldn't sleep after I watched it," he said. "I felt like I had a duty to expose it."

that video lost it for Romney.

Clinton is pretty awesome.
Romney, what a tool. Makes sense though, he's just another rich dude.

There's a lot of laws that have retarded voter thingies. Changing boundaries to chop up the voters for one side or another, cutting hours in some places and extending them in others based on demographics or voting tendencies...

Place is as partisan as fuck.

It's a shame Clinton was brought down by that silly scandal.

Being that he was only the second president ever to face impeachment, it was definitely damaging to his reputation. The state has no place in the bedroom though, and as time goes on, more people agree with that, and people realize they shouldn't judge a presidents ability to run a country on if he lets some skank blow him or not....

Bill Clinton, is the most popular of the living former presidents, with a 66 percent favorable rating. Only 31 percent say they hold unfavorable views of Clinton.

Thread is flawed, if we are to play this theater game, the US Electoral College made of 500 people technically "decide" the president, not vote numbers.

That was a poll taken last year, and as the rest of my comment said, over time people have cared less about it. You can't honestly believe that 10 years ago the scandal didn't damage his reputation. When I say damage I don't mean destroyed. Its like you agree but the post comes across as an argument based on something that isn't related.

The only people that ever hated on Clinton were religious nuts and feminists. All the rest of us saw was that Clinton led one of the most prosperous periods in United States history and in turn, we saw a boom here in Canada.

Could give a fuck about the scandal. Slick Will is the coolest president.

Even better, during that time his numbers went up, and the republicans that fought him went down.

Bill Clinton, whether you liked him or not, you have to admit was, and is, an excellent politician.

The thing about Clinton that makes him likeable is that he seems human. He's a brilliant man, no doubt, but he is able to speak in terms that are very relatable and understandable to the average Joe. He also connects well with people.

He is also fallible and human - after all, many people cheat on their partners. I'm not condoning it, but it's a fact.
