Get rid of it? Hell to the yea! that was the first thing on my mind within the first month or so, but i cant sell it until it works ya know?   
No use selling a car that doesnt work properly.

 |  That's been a popular piece of advice from many ppl. The only reason i dont wanna do that right now is cause im too deep into it right now. I can still make money if i keep it as is.  
Plus, the AT is mechanically fine and in perfect working order, its all these electrical issues im dealing with

			Independent speed shop out in Langley does good electrical work I've heard. If they can wire up a vq swap into an r32 I'm sure they can take care of youPosted via RS Mobile

			If you know your way around a car, you can also try reflowing the solder on the ECU and TCU boards. Over time, weather and vibrations may have cracked the solder joints, and cause bad connections on the electronic system. 
 So if you have time, take out the ECU and ECU and take a solder pencil and reflow each connection, taking a multimeter to things like the capacitors and resistors is also could also solve any potential problem shops may have overlooked. Automotive electronic systems from the 90's are very dumb and robust, a lot of malfunctions are usually caused by bad connections from cracked solder joints or dead electronic bits (capacitors most common and resistors also a possibility)

 |  yea i am no newb to soldering, but i had already sent it in to get repaired through Japanoid and spent $600+ on repairs to the TCU and ECU

			bring the thing to me ill help you fix it. i know the 3/s/gto like the back of my hand and help our community for free, no bs.stop taking it to random shops, you will only be wasting your time&money.
 
 its stuck in limp mode, most likely capacitors leaking in the ecu or tcu. had 2 cars do this before and mechanics claimed they repaired the electronics but they didnt. there are other causes too but ill go over them with you in person.
 
 and while youre at it join up the following forums:

i've tuned a couple 1g dsm's, other than that no lol 
just go join the British Columbia DSM - Index  forums for all your dsm needs. there are a lot of great guys on there that are good with dsm's. not to mention racing greed's lowell foo has the magic touch with those cars.

			i dont know how mechanically inclined you are but here is some more info/links

 about 1/3rd down it starts on the awd auto  
this is how to pull the tcu code manually: TCU Codes 
i know it says dsm but its the same diag plug and procedure  
your ecu is located behind the climate control system, this is how to get to it:  Stealth 316 - ECM Removal 
just imagine the pics flipped since we have rhd 
pay close attention to the caps, mine looked fine but were actually leaking underneath where you couldnt see it unless you took them off. same goes for the tcu, pull it open it and inspect it.  
the tcu is on the floor behind the ecu.  
anymore questions just ask.

			If you're testing capacitors, getting an ESR and a multimeter with capacitance readout is strongly recommended.
 Sometimes the capacitor may not be leaking, or looks fine but the electrolytes may have dried up inside and you wont know until you've measured it.
