Bell/Telus coverage in Vancouver

Been a Rogers customer for over 10 years now. Thinking of switching over to Bell.

Wanted to ask what ppl think about Bell's coverage in Vancouver especially for voice calls and LTE coverage.

Thanks

I used to be on Rogers, and I switched to Bell about 8 years ago, and never had a problem.

Bell's one of the big dogs... so the coverage is as good as it gets.. They're the largest LTE network in Canada as well.

Bell and Telus use the same equipment for LTE, it is pretty dense in vancouver so you shouldn't be noticing too many problems with it. I switched to Fido/Rogers after being with Telus for 7 years... i absolutely HATE It!!!!!!

That should give you some indication. I really wish I stayed with Bellus all this time, now im stuck in a stupid contract.

Makes me snigger when people compare the LTE networks of Bell to Telus.

I thought the same thing when my gf was unhappy with Rogers after years and finally made the switch to Bell when the Iphone 5 came out. Worst mistake we ever made.

Let me begin by saying we live in Vancouver and according to their coverage map there are plenty of towers around our house. We live in a Vancouver special, not in a basement that's under ground, not some weird concrete building or something but we were unable to get any coverage inside our house. It was barely holding onto 1 bar of regular service and often times would be out of service. As soon as we stepped outside the house though, full bars, LTE and everything. Spoke to BELL many times and they said there's nothing they can do about it. Spoke to techs, supervisors, and managers and no resolution.

After a nightmare of paying the Rogers Cancellation Fee, having to cancel from Bell and going back to Rogers which ended up with another cancellation fee from BELL we were finally back with Rogers and it was sunshine's and rainbows again with service.

In the end though, at least financially speaking we actually ended up gaining but I won't get into that. I know some may think, couldn't you do Buyers Remorse? My gf had practically gone over the minutes before we even got home after getting the phone and who would have thought that with one of the BIG 3 companies we would have any issues at home. I seriously thought I was back in the 90's when cell phones first became a big thing where I had to walk around to find signals. I was shocked and pissed and thought we got a phone with Mobilicity or something. Needless to say it all worked out in the end and even in our favor.

My advice, if you do switch, make sure you try the phone at home and at your most used areas first without going over the minutes outlined in the buyers remorse policy first. At least if you realize it sucks, you can go back and do a full refund no questions asked.

Buyer's Remorse in a nutshell:

1. Buy phone
2. Don't fucking use it (No calls, no SMS, no data - none of that shit.)
3. Take the phone to places you frequent. Check the signal levels.
4. If it sucks, go back within 15 days or whatever it is. Get your money back.
5. Move on in life

If you fail any of the above, you deserve to be stuck in a contract. :D

Ehh I'm not promoting Bell or anything. Just saying that's what they're claiming. I couldn't care less what provider I'm on, as long as it works fine.

Based on personal experience, Bell's customer service has always treated me better than Rogers did, so I went with Bell.

Coverage-wise, I never had a problem with either companies.

I think when it comes down to the big guys, you're really just splitting hairs...

Having said all that, I'm way happier on Bell and would never go back to Rogers. That's just me.

My fiance is on Telus and she gets no reception at my place. Luckily her contract is up in 6 months. I am on Rogers and have no issues with reception.

This - for some reason coverage with Bell is horrendous around my area. I am on Rogers now and happier than a clam - the customer service is about the same, in my opinion.

Fido has good customer service, and I might switch to them next time!

A provider's coverage is only as good as the customer's usage footprint.

Dukes x2. Find someone you know on Bell and take their phone to your frequented destinations. Best to use the phone you plan on using since all phones have varying RF performance.
