[Need Advice] Body Shop Recommendation!

I have a friend who recently got into a small accident, and is looking for a good body shop to have his car fixed. Do you guys have any advice/recommendations on good body shops based on past experiences?

any RS sponsor lol ...why all you newbs joining and dont bother to SEARCH? jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez :suspicious: even a simple " recommended shops in vancouver " on google will prob find you something lol

but to be fair : grand performance, the speed syndicate. it all depends where your friend lives and where they want to travel too ? ie : someone in delta may not one to go to a shop in burnaby, or vice versa

we have Grand Performance located in Richmond as a sponsor. Which area does suits your friends best? I can make some recommendations dependent on location and type of repair work required. What kind of car does your friend drive?

The reason why i didn't search on google, is because there is a difference in demographic when it comes to the "reviews" on Yelp, and the car community's reviews in terms of body shops.

A lot of the people on Yelp, give 5 stars to any body shop that fix their car, and provide a loaner. But those aren't the "best" body shops in vancouver. They will be the 99% of shops that can fix any damage, that is visible to the eye. Doesn't necessarily attest to their attention of detail or quality of service.

in Burnaby, for Audi or Euro try Starlite. Victor is a great guy to talk to. The Auto mind as well is in the same area if you prefer a bigger shop. Both have been in industry for awhile. If you can a shop that handles Audi more, there's Richmond A/b. 2 locations, North van or richmond. Those are shops I have dealt with and with positive results.

I would recommend Fastrack. They did an amazing job on my friend's car.

From my personal experience, Automind's paint was really off.. I know white is hard to match, but it was pretty bad. Also, the paint on my lips started peeling off, it's like they didn't even bother to prep it at all...... I could rip off all the paint easily from my lips if I wanted to I bet. The feeling is like peeling off eggshells on an hard-boiled egg.

Qualitek Collision does awesome work

DieselMeister 03-29-2013 08:12 PM

So.. to recap. Starlite, Fastrack, Grand Performance, and Qualitek, are good shops, and one can't go wrong with any of them.

Try "mint" autbody in burnaby, they repaired our Pathfinder a couple years ago... Great prices and i legitimately couldn't tell a panel had been repainted they matched it so well.

YEP!

It was explained to me that licenses for Auto Body shops in Vancouver have stopped being distributed, so the only way to open one is to buy out an existing business. Therefore, Vancouver body shops can charge much more than in the burbs.

The further east you go, the less you will pay. When I had some serious body work done on my cars I went to Richmond, Surrey, or Langley. Find a shop out there and you'll pay less.

DieselMeister 04-01-2013 01:57 PM

+1 more for mint autobody in burnaby... theyre located off of kingsway right next to wendys.
good friends of mine, they re did the entire body on my supra from the ground up and i cant say enough good things about the work they did. the car came out jaw dropping, came out looking like glass.

they have 20+ years of experience and theyre a certified icbc shop and can provide you with a courtesy car as well, talk to lucky or rajan.

I've used these guys as well, top quality work, I could never tell the difference between the painted/repaired panels and the unscathed ones.

Been to Starlite and Fastrack and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either shop

impulseX 04-02-2013 07:32 PM

(oh joy. 1000 posts!)

DieselMeister 04-03-2013 10:55 AM

Donn Dean is in burnaby right?

BBMme 04-03-2013 11:05 AM

+1 for Qualitek, can't go wrong with them

tomatogunk 04-03-2013 11:08 AM

Just did a hood repair with Fraser River Paint & Body. Sticks to the quoted price, excellent job, quality service and cheaper than most places too. Would recommend them

DieselMeister 04-03-2013 11:12 AM

how much did the hood cost if you don't mind me asking? was it just a repaint? or was it bent?
