some people lack that understanding... haha.

some people expect more than retail for their POS trade ins! just because a dealer sells one for 10k doesnt mean they'll get 10k for it. that is one thing that people wont understand!

there are customers where u refuse to sell them a car and they keep insisting you take their extremely ridiculous lowball offer, even if you practically have to kick them out of the dealer! its crazy.

the best kind of deal is where the customer feels like they've gotten a good deal, sales guy made a sale and manager felt that there was a reasonable amount made on that particular car.

Good on you guys for being reasonable sales guys, really appreciate that there are decent ones around still who are in it to help the client.

On the buyers side, its important to do your research on the market value, both private and dealer. Also be aware of trade in values, blackbook values, etc. When I have a trade in that's average and dealer starts off by offering me the low end or even below blackbook, I kind of know what direction the negotiations are going to go.

I bought a 2011 Tiguan Highline 4Motion with 35,000kms with every option (Dynaudio, RNS510, Sport Package) at Richmond Auto Mall for $29k drive away last May. The availability in the used car market for this vehicle is scarce, but at the same time these did not sell very well when new. Also to note, I believe there was a drastic price reduction on MY2013 models

BTW, I do find the ride a little rough with the Sport Suspension on roads such as I5. I'm thinking of downgrading the 18" OEM wheels to 17" or possibly 16" to absorb some of the harshness. Road noise insulation is very good on this car, and I haven't gotten any rattles from the panoroof (seems to be a common issue with most VW/Audi cars). Avoid testing one with the Dynaudio system, or you will be hooked to find one with the tech package.
