Getting some paints 5 Attachment(s) Hi everyone First post to the forum. I've recently bought a beat up RSX-S and decide to make it look all nice and clean again. I've heard of a few places around Bby area that may be good. So I will be getting some quotes soon (maybe update this post once I do). A few pics of the areas that I plan on painting on are attached. (numbered based on priority as I understand them...) #1 The side door has a crack with rust - and it's not visible from photo but the door does not align exactly with the body - a few mm difference. Rusts grow, so this is the top of my list. #2 Hood has spots of rusts like mad. Another priority. #3 Bumper scuff. Why is it not aligned with the tail light? #4 and #5 are minor. So far I've talked to Boyd, which has a rep that seems to know what he's talking about - and sounds like they are using some good techniques (to a layman like me). I have forgot to mention the #1, though for some reason - need to get back again. Will probably update some more. Comments welcome. :) |
After visiting Boyd and AK Autoworks in Burnaby and getting their quotes - it seems that their pricing are quite consistent. Front hood / bumper - around $700 Rear bumper - around $600 Both places mentioned that the side door crack being the most trickiest - AK is quoting $1300 - and Boyd manager is offering $1000 if this work is done in conjunction with the bumper. To be honest, I really just want to find a place that does the job right. Any feedback on either of these two places? If they have a good reputation with cleaning up rusted spots, that would be even better, as these things seem to come back. Thanks |
That's a pretty straight forward rust repair, both places should be able to fix the problem. |
