PC crashing/freezing during gaming

Hey guys, I seek RS guru's advice as I have combed the forums/google with no luck. This is for my friends rig that I helped him build. It's been nothing but problems since day one.

Here's the specs
Windows 7 64bit
Intel i5-2500
EVGA 560ti
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
Corsair 650W PSU
8GB Patriot DDR3 RAM

Basically the problem is that while gaming the game crashes and goes to windows. Running the newest nvidia drivers and it's still crashing. Tried a couple older ones, still crashing the game. Nothing is overclocked. I've reformatted once, reseated CPU and still same issues. Temps aren't too bad on the CPU. Basically the game either freezes after a few mins of play and we have to ALT-TAB and close the game.

Games he's running are Borderlands 2, League or legends and Warframe. All 3 crash. LOL seems to run for about 1.5-2hours. The others 20-60 mins. I've tried running video settings on low settings and same issues. When the game crashes theres no window popup that say error occurred.

Any ideas guys? At first thought maybe it's a steam issue, but LOL runs on it's own.

I ran the exact card in SLI for a couple months with no issues before giving it to him. I didn't have issues. I ran memtest on the RAM and had no probs.

EDIT: Warframe crashed about 5 mins in. Says Nvidia display drivers failed.

Check the temperatures. Reseat memory or in different slots of you can. Try a different set of memory and video card.

Could the video card be overheating? BL2 and Warframe seem a lot more graphically intensive than LOL, and would work the video card harder. Therefore, LOL can run longer before the GPU gets too hot.

grab the video card in question and stick it back into your comp and test it
If you reformatted your PC with fresh windows install then driver errors can be ruled out...meaning it's very likely the card.

run on 1x piece of ram and try another video card and see what happens. if your computer ONLY** freezes during gaming, is 95% your video card dieing.

Check the temps for graphics card (is it clogged with dust)? My pc used to crash when my gpu was overheating.
