I guess I'm in the minority.. I went to these kinds of shows to see some awesome cars and what could be done to them. (and a few half-assed shitty cars, that somehow won a trophy...?) If I wanted to see a bunch of skanky whores (sorry.. models) I'd just hit up a bar downtown. I guess the one benefit to going to a bar.. don't have to sneak in the alcohol. We always used to do that at the old 'indoor' import car shows.. ahh, memories. EDIT: Yup, I'm still an asshole. but I'll probably still come to the show anyway. |
Can't figure out why all the hate for a FREE car show? |
From the sounds of it, its totally free! Who knows, maybe the show is completely paid for by sponsors? You know what?? i used to sneek in alcohol at shows also! ahh the oldskool days!!! since this is a free show i doubt there will be any security so if you decide to go you can probably bring some in. I registered for my free ticket in case i wanna go. If its sunny i might stop by, if it rains i probably won't. It's not like i'll lose any $$$ if i decide not to go. no hate here, props to Importfest for putting on a completely free show!!! |
ImportFest isn't totally free forever. The free tickets are only available till April 31st, after that date, im certain they would charge some $$ for their tickets. |
Mmmmm models :megusta: good thing I currently have a girlfriend. |
I shouldn't bitch too much... Despite the name "Import" fest.. I always entered domestics.. it was always my favorite show. What were the other two? Driven to Perform and something else.. |
Signed up! Thanks for the heads up and free ticket |

Vancouver has a vibrant car scene, and it is not a surprise that Revscene, based in Vancouver, is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, car forum in the NW or even the West Coast. Vancouver, population wise, is not half as large as Seattle, Los Angeles, San Fran, etc., yet Revscene managed to become a huge forum on cars, thanks to its founders, moderators, and volunteers and of course, the car enthusiasts in Vancouver. So, yes, Sponsors and advertisers will pay big bucks to advertise to car enthusiasts in Vancouver. Obviously, ImportFest would not do a show unless they have a good handle on the money part of the equation. The best part... is that they managed to make it free and that will draw a much larger crowd than if it was not free. ------------- Another issue: Does anybody know how to enter a car (for a friend of mine)? I cannot, for the life of me, find out on their website or facebook page. Perhaps, all the slots are already accounted for? Thanks! |

Got my ticket. See you there ^-^ |
prep your cars boys, show season is upon us! |
Wow, there sure seems to be a lot of haters in the room. Personally I'm glad to see ImportFest come back. Last I recall was back in '04 which was one of the first shows I ever entered. Had a blast got to meet a lot a nice people, see some hot models and just fun overall. It may not be BC Place or the Convention Centre (which is BIG bucks), but at least all these sponsors and vendor are making a huge effort for everyone's entertainment. I for one am glad they are back supporting car culture in the west coast as there hasn't been too much action in the past few years besides the RS meets. |
I might just have to show up too... |
is Jeri Lee really gonna be there? I didn't know she was still an import model, haha. signed up for my free ticket! any way to get a second ticket? |
RS booth? Jessica Nigiri? Yeah yeah?:fullofwin: Someone make this happennnnn |
wonder what kind of car will blitzgear bring out? :) |
I remember my first Importfest experience. Waited so long to get a photo with Tlia haha. |
