Is this deck any good?

So I saw this cheap deck on amazon for $43 including shipping. I was just wondering if any one has had one or their opinions of it. It does have everything i mainly need (I don't need a cd player) and even includes a remote.

The deck is located right here:

it's a $43 deck, do you honestly think it's "any good"? That being said, what do you need it for? Are you just looking for a basic deck to replace your stock deck?

TheAsianGuy 04-19-2013 04:20 PM

By any good, i meant like has any had any terrible experiences with it. I just need a deck where I can just plug my ipod into and play some music. I'm not looking for anything fancy

I don't think it's a matter of "are these good", but more "how long will this be good for"

Just get something basic from a good shop. Shouldn't cost you that much more anyway.

way more peace of mind with some off the shelf sony/pioneer/etc unit

TheAsianGuy 04-19-2013 04:57 PM

I've been trying to find one in stores, but I haven't been able to find some cheaper than $90 each, the main reason I'm not looking to spend that much is that I'm just looking for something temporary

Obviously I'm going to be biased here but speaking from experience, you would be better off spending about double and get a one year over the counter local exchange warranty, a real brand name product like Pioneer or JVC and of course you would be helping a local retailer out.

I installed one of these a few months back and some of the backlights didn't work right out of the box. Power output was pretty blech too.

If its a temp unit just buy a $100 deck and sell it when you don't need it. You can probably get back at least half. Electronics aren't a great place to cheap out on

Would buying second hand me a good option? or do you guys know where I can get lower priced decks?

I have a cheap kenwood with aux input for 50 bucks.

Cheapest thing is rarely the best option. I've never seen a "good" generic stereo. Often they're so poorly made and crap out so easily. Even if it has some sort of warranty it becomes a hassle when it's dead, would you pay $20-30 shipping to warranty it? Probably not.

I'd personally choose a used good brand over a new cheap no name one. Much like a car, would you buy a new Chinese car or a couple year old used Toyota?

Haha...the guy lowballed me on a $50 deck.
Maybe check the couch for some change? :rukidding:
