High-airflow case recommendation

I'm in the market for a cpu tower case that has great airflow for a crossfire setup. I'm currently looking at the
NZXT Phantom 630.

Does anyone have any other recommendations? My budget is around $150. Thanks for the help!

I've got a coolermaster haf 922 (mid tower) case

excellent airflow but some filters would definitely be nice thing gets dusssstttyyy

bought mine 1.5yr ago for $85 (cyber monday sale)

Corsair Carbide 500R - great case with lots of fan mounts and it's good value for what you get. Have run a SLI setup with plenty of room and great cable management as well.

Also not too big, if it matters.

In terms of pure airflow, take a look at the Azza Hurrican 2000 (no, it's not a typo). For all intents and purposes, it's a wind tunnel. 2x230mm on the side, 2x230mm on top, 2x120mm up front, 1x120mm behind the motherboard, with room for maybe 1 or 2 more fans.

the coolermaster HAF (high air flow) series, have a HAF 922 n HAF X

i got the haf x for its air flow and i think the price has came down a bit already. $120 bucks +tax at ncix right now. NCIX - Buy Computers, Computer Parts, Laptops, World's Leading Discount Computer Store

I currently have the haf 922.
I'm eyeing Corsair C70 for my next build.

It's their high airflow case. It went on sale for $70 last boxing day.

Or NZXT Switch 810 if I get a full-tower case

check out RFD
I believe you can get Switch 810 PM'd for around $100...very good deal. It's a full-sized tower no comment on its airflow tho

400R/500R has good air flow for its price but it's limited if you ever wanna consider watercooling....and its fan controller uses proprietary connections

True, but I have a Corsair H100 on it for my CPU - GPU watercooling is too expensive for me, especially with SLI lol.

Thanks for the suggestions, RS. The Hurrican looks like the one for me, and I ordered one from NCX for 143.50 plus 25MIR. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics, but it looks like it'll move a shitload of air.

best airflow is to have all the cables neatly tied up and get a modular PSU, this way you plug in the cables you just need...

Suggest getting a case where you can loop most of the cables behind the CPU tray.. I made this mistake when I got my CM Storm Scout case...

lilaznviper 04-24-2013 10:48 AM

switch810 is pretty good with air cooling. lots of places to put in fans and a large area to work with to route cables

My setup when i had crossfire

My 500R with SLI setup. If you don't need watercooling for the GPUs, this works great. 240mm/280mm rad fits in the top of the case. Cable management is terrific in this case. If you need more room for video cards, you can remove the middle HDD cage. I wish I had a modular PSU, but the backside manages to hold the cables (extra-long!) from my PCP&C PSU just fine.

I have a Gelid Wing 12 120mm rear exhaust, stock 200mm side intake, stock 2x120mm intake and a H100 exhausting out the top. The filters in the case help in keeping it clean.

i was surprised there wasn't a filter for the side mesh on the white 500R
I bought a demciflex for mine...it's magnetic tho so I have no idea its prolonged effects on my HDD
a little pricey but does the job well

^Yeah, me too, but I ended up just using a swiffer every few days.

Ulic Qel-Droma 04-24-2013 07:59 PM

i have a full tower HAF.

super airflow...

i can hear each individual air particle screaming through the fans rushing toward the hot heatsinks like zombies on brains.

i think my computer likes it.

StylinRed 04-25-2013 07:09 AM

lol

just found out some company makes dust filters for the HAF cases but they're like $60+ -_-

Presto 04-25-2013 08:16 AM

The price on the HAF922 is attractive. My main concern is cooling the GPUs, which the Hurrican seems to do well, compared to other cases, on this review:
http://i.neoseeker.com/a/azza_hurrican_2000/gpu.png

I suppose I could get a HAF922 instead of the Hurrican, and use the money saved to add some bigger fans. Any suggestions for that? The HAF X also looks great, and I like the GPU air duct, but it's a bit out of budget.

StylinRed 04-25-2013 11:47 AM

That Hurrican does seem pretty sweet

If you wanted the HAF X you could pricebeat Memoryexpress they've got it listed at $189.99 with BestDirect at $153.80 the pricebeat comes to $143.50 + there's a $10 mail in rebate available

edit: awww best directs price has gone up $10 :(

As for Fans I'm not sure I always just look for the ones with the highest CFM rating and if they've got bearings
