Anyone work at telus internet department?

I am renting a basement and sharing internet with the landlord upstairs
in the past week internet is running so slow and never go above 2Mbps

I am reluctant to ask my landlord, because my rent is so cheap and do not want to sound demanding by asking why internet speed is slow.

So rather than asking the landlord, I am looking for RS member who can check into it for me

My suspicion is either we ran above the download limit quota so telus is throttling our internet

or (this is a loooong shot) my landlord put a throttle for my IP (I doubt this because my landlord is not computer savvy)

I put my money on the first suspicion.
So I am hoping someone who work at telus internet rep can check my landlord's account and just let me know if indeed we went above the quota for this month ...

Thanks

:seriously: Don't be so lazy and ask your landlord if he knows what's up. Or ask the landlord if you can speak to Telus on his behalf so you can speed up the internet for both of you.

i'm sure it isnt you hitting the quota since you are able to hit 2Mbps

If your rent is so cheap pony up and pay for your own Internet. He's giving it to you for free and isn't obligated to do anything. That being said if he's gonna freak out on a simple question like that you gonna have other issues down the road.

Also it's a breach of security since you're not the account holder and you're asking someone on rs to look into someone else's account.

LOL... can I ask any bankers here to "look" into bill gates account? I suspect he's hiding more then what he claims..

First of all, for a employee to look into why your internet is slow they will need the homeowner (not you) to be on the phone to verify security questions. Secondly, if a employee of Telus gets caught going into a customers account he/she could lose their job. Telus is fucking hard company to get on with and the employees take there job pretty serious.
