License plate covers 1 Attachment(s) Hello, so i drive the highway alot and now that its summer im starting to notice bugs hitting my vehicle. I remember in the past it is a huge hassle to scrub the bugs from in-between my plates and the edges. So i kinda wanted to buy these covers from canadian tire called tuf bubble shield. However, a friend of mine told me that these are not necessarily legal and people can get pulled over for these. Please advise. Picture of the product is attached. :toot: |
You can't cover or obscure your plate.. so even though it's clear, technically it's illegal. By the letter of the law... even the dealership trim rings around the plate are illegal as they partially obscure the plate. I've never been pulled over for that (but many other things, when I was younger and even dumber than I am now...). Your mileage may vary, however. |
Totally illegal. You are fine with any type of frame, but anything that completely covers the plate is illegal. |
That almost always blocks 50% of the plate at certain angle. What's the point of having a plate if it is not easily visible? |

A little late but I've been pulled over for having it on my rear license plate, it was a $196 Obstruction of License Plate ticket. But however after that I kept it on the front plate instead and never had any issues. |
