Fishing thread

Just out of curiosity, do any of you fish? What were your catches? Any favorite locations you're willing to SHARE? I personally go fishing for the ambiance (dock fishing) ; getting a bite is just a big plus.

With that being said, throughout my "years" of fishing I've caught a 5'' sturgeon @ Fraser River (DW I RELEASED IT), few flounders(?) and "dog sharks" at Ambleside and Jericho and of course the famous bullhead (though I have been seeing a big decrease in them over the past two years..unless i'm unlucky).

Last time was during the summer a year ago @ some dock near New West the Quay. Buddy of mine caught a smaller sized one there also.
My setup was a size 2/0 hook with enough shrimp to cover 1/4 of the hook.

I fish all the time but have yet to start this season. My friends went bass fishing a week ago and it was very slow. I'll probably try in a couple weeks to see how it is. This was in the Pitt lake area.

Sturgeon can be had all over but it's much easier in a boat with a depth finder

I plan on doing alot more fishing this year than past, mostly just lake and a little river though

Same but only because salmon fishing has become a gong show over the years.

Fishing is a tough and depend upon luck. You can handle the fishing with patince and tachnique. It is also depend on the experience and practice.

I used to go to various car-accessible spots in Richmond trying to catch pink salmon.. would see tons of them jumping, but never caught one. Best I did was smelly slimy fish, not sure what it was.

Edit: pretty sure they were pikeminnow

My fishing is identical to the OP Lol. Ambleside for dog fish and bullshits. I caught two sturgeons on river road in Richmond. There's an area where the river becomes narrow so all the fish are forced closer to you. I just used worms for those catches.

When I first started fishing it was slow and difficult. However, other anglers were more willing to help a newbie. Now I find with the Internet nobody wants to help each other out in fear of getting place over fished.

When was the last time you tried for pinks?

What's everyone fishing for since they closed the Fraser? I switched to bass but the horsefly's are becoming to much for me to handle now.

saveth, where do you go for bass fishing? I've tried out at sturgeon slough with no luck.

I go to area 51 (katzie marsh) I try to avoid that place in the summer because the black flies are brutal, unless its raining.

I just started this year, going to some lakes for rainbows.

If my buddies and I like it, we'll probably try out salmon next year.
