SFU Science to UBC Pharmacy. Is there anyone who was/is on the same boat as me? If anyone could give me a few pointers as to what their marks were like, their ECs, PCAT score, it'd be greatly appreciated. This year had a lot of ups and downs for me.. 1) My cGPA is 3.94 (depressed, because the marks get scaled down) and even now, I'm still highly doubting my ability to transfer into the pharmacy program UBC has to offer. 2) I pretty much have no ECs, apart from work. Well I did volunteer for half a semester at Minoru Residence in Richmond as a part of a personal request, but I highly doubt that I would/could use that. 3) Will be starting my PCAT study marathon this summer. I want to get 99 percentile :accepted: 4) I just want to get out of SFU, commuter school and all. Just no fun! So I decided that I'd like to be part of UBC's vibrant clubs and community. |
All that information you could find on their pharmacy school website. You want to get into a competitive program -- no one is going to help you take away their chance. Your GPA is high, hope you're smart enough to do well enough on the PCAT. As far as extra-curriculars go, just ask a pharmacist if you can help out/do general stocking work and most will gladly write you a reference. Also, suck up to a prof this coming semester/next semester and try to get a professor to write you a letter of recommendation. That's all you really need -- I have a few friends in pharm right now. They did ~70 credits of their undergrad and transferred over. |
