Horrible throttle response - Drive by wire

I recently purchased a 2011 Suzuki SX4 with 6 speed manual and AWD.

Great car, with the exception of one irritating problem: the throttle response is very slow. Getting on the throttle is laggy, and coming off the throttle when shifting causes the revs to spike up before dropping. I'm concluding that the drive by wire system is at fault. I know this isn't just my driving style causing this either, as I daily a 95 Civic that has mechanical throttle linkage; no shifting problems there.

A quick search online shows that this is a common problem for post 2007 SX4's. One owner solved this issue by sending their ecu to a tuning company in the states for an ecu remapping.

Does anyone know of tuning shop in metro Vancouver that might be able to remap my ecu? Supposedly, the J20a engine uses the same ecu as an MX-5 so I'm hoping getting a tune wont be impossible.

Welcome to the world of drive by wire. :heckno:
Unfortunately I am unaware of any ecu reflash for your vehicle.

twm sells these. but when i see the engine selection, it looks european so check if you have one of these engines. ask twm to make sure and get a short shifter, too:)
