Help! DRL warning light came on... So I went to put in new LED bulbs for my Daytime Running lights, now the driver side doesn't work and the warning light on the dash came on. I switched the bulb to see if it was burnt out, but it worked on the other side, I looked at the fuses and they're fine, the wiring harness looks okay (hi-beam lights come on with the same bulb, just no DRL), and I tried disconnecting the battery to reset the dash light but no luck. The DRL's were working before I changed them too. Any suggestions? |
The DRL circuit is based on amps, you need to add a resistor pack to trick the DRL to think the LED bulb carries the same load.. IMO adding the resistor pack defeats the purpose of LED (more energy efficient and weight loss) in the first place |
But when I plug my stock lights back in, it still doesn't work. Should I plug my stock ones back in then disconnect the battery for a few minutes then turn them on? Cause if I just straight swap them out, it doesn't work still. |
what car |
1993 Acura Vigor. |
do both high beams work? |
Yes both work. But only the passenger side one works when in drl. |
Does your car have a DRL module? Some of the later Honda's had them that went bad sometimes. Maybe it crapped out while you were fiddling with the bulbs? |
should've kept it stock :troll: on topic - is it just one side that doesn't work? |
Yes. Just the passenger side one when the DRL is on and both when the highbeams are on. |
