Best place to buy tv's? Hi, where in vancouver can I buy cheap tv's? I want to buy a plasma but all the prices at future shop and best buy are currently to high right now. Anyone know a good place? I've heard of openbox. Any other recommendations? |
XS Cargo. Got a 32" Emerson LED TV there for $200, it's a really sweet set. Right now they have a refurb 42" Panasonic plasma for $329 (PANASONIC | 42" Plasma TV Refurb | TCP42X5KGB | XS Cargo Brand name Close outs- Electronics | TV) or a 50" Sanyo for $499 (SANYO | 50" Plasma TV Refurb | DP50741 | XS Cargo Brand name Close outs- Electronics | TV) Their flyer shows a 43" Sanyo for $289, too. |
Bought my Sony 42" NX711 from openbox about 2 years ago now TV was retailing for $1299 got mine for 799 and have no complaints what so ever, one of the better TV's I've seen Posted via RS Mobile |
Open box all the way. I prepayed a plasma for $1199 at future shop Richmond. Open box is right across the street n had same TV for $599. They wouldn't pricematch so I got a refund and went to open box. Even comes with a one year warranty. Posted via RS Mobile |
What about Costco? |
lol just look up redflagdeals or something.. there's a 50" panasonic plasma for like 500bux on clearance at target or something like that |
MemoryExpress and NCIX seems like 2 good places to start ... they both have decent pricematch policy |

NCIX will refuse PMs whereas I've never had ME refuse it unless the item was out of stock. |
ncix is horrible at PM. ME on the other hand will do it. Try Visions as they have decent deals and you can bargin :D |
Costco because of there return policy and free 2 year warranty on all electronics. Posted via RS Mobile |

I haven't had PM refused but then most of my purchases are generally smaller items like components here and there. |
OpenBox |
Personally I like Visions as you can negotiate with them. OpenBox and Costco etc all have sales but never on high quality highly desirable models... ie you want a Hitachi, sure you can find a deal, but stuff like high end Samsungs very seldom go on sale. However, I was able to negotiate almost 25% off my brand new 2013 TV at Visions. Mark |
I just went to openbox today and they have almost no plasmas. The prices seem to be okay though. I have yet to try costco. I went to visions too and there stuff are way to overpriced. |
visions u can haggle |

I bought my TV in February 2013 and it is a 2013 model 55" Panasonic plasma that was just released, they only had one in stock, they were clearing the 2012s out. The sticker price for the TV I wanted was $1699 + tax. I ended up paying $1475 + tax including a 7 year, next business day, on-site warranty that if I never make a claim on, I will get the full price of the warranty back from ($279). My receipt reflects $1198 for the TV and $279 for the warranty. The price for the TV was the same everywhere - Future Shop, Visions, London Drugs, etc but good luck getting any of them to move on the price. As I said earlier in the thread, it's not hard to find a deal on a shitty TV but if you want a Samsung 7000 or 8000 series LED or a Panasonic plasma, good luck. The best TVs seldom go on much of a sale. Mark |
i bought my LG 47LM86 for 1100 shipped in feb from newegg.ca . ordered on a sunday evening and recieved it tues morn. it was listed for 1999 at all the other stores like bestbuy and futureshop. |
mom and pop shops have great prices if you haggle which they're very open to |

I was about to check them out the last time I went TV shopping but never had the chance because I got a really good deal elsewhere. |

Friend bought his massive Samsung LED TV and said nothing but great things |

They can pretty much bring in any TV model and priced better than the big box stores. |
just wait till a guy pulls up in a van telling you he works at a warehouse and they have overstocked tv's and he can offer you the unopened 50" in the van right now for $200 cash! :troll: |
