Good Vancouver/Richmond detail shop (interior/exterior)

Any recommendations?

Need a through detail of a car that hasn't been driven in awhile so there's some...vegetation growing on the window sils and such. The interior has a little moisture damage on the seats and upholstery on the sides from condensation.

I was dropping off my dog a few weeks back and was watching their crew work on a Mercedes. When the car was done and left I could see mad swirls and that the car was still half wet and partially dirty in some places. Will pass

I see, thanks for the heads up.

It was $15 for my external only detailing.

I usually go when it is not busy, but haven't tried it when it is busy.

Yea, it was my one and only experience with the place and it was purely accidental that I witnessed it all. I usually just drop off my dog and leave but just by chance my gf stayed in the store asking them a bunch of questions so I got out the car to have a smoke watching them clean the car. Like most places in Richmond they had a shit load of people cleaning the car at once making for quick work but when I saw the Mercedes pull away I was like wtf that doesn't look good :rukidding:

Perhaps it's the whole you get what you pay for. $25 for a basic wash is pretty cheap if you compare with places that are not in Richmond.

Glossworks is the place, not in richmond but the best detailer

This guy : Home - Lee's detailing service limited posted his work in this forum a while ago - His prices seem quite reasonable

Never been there myself, but I used to see a lot of decent cars go into the Hand Car Wash place across from superstore in Richmond. Not sure about the quality of work, but doesn't seem half bad.

Nicco 06-04-2013 04:10 PM

Not a fan of the space across superstore. I noticed they use the same wash glove on your rims and body and the gloves usually look dirty.

Sensha-ya is good! They pay alot of attention to detail.

Terance does insane work!

not to take sides on the matter but i suppose its pretty likely that the car was swirled up to begin with. i wonder if they at least 2 bucket wash it?

No, they don't. But then neither do any of the shops that do a wash for <$30. They have to crank through as many cars as possible to stay profitable. I honestly don't blame them for doing so because in the end, they're running a business. You want 2 bucket with regular rinsing, you're going to pay more. It's actually slightly amusing that they make mention of their great filtration system in their "soap tub" but then they never rinse the mitt ever in the tub.

I've taken my car to Sensha-Ya before as well before and while yes they did swirl the crap out of my car, I wasn't too concerned about it since I intended to polish it in a few weeks anyways. The main reason why it swirled? Because they never once rinsed the mitt - they managed to wash the entire car (and this was during late winter when the car was pretty dirty) without ever rinsing and used quite a bit of pressure when washing too. (enough to feel the car slightly shaking)

If you want a good proper detail where you have someone bring you car back to new, Ken would be your man. If you just want a car wash (which isn't the same as a detail mind you - no correction is done) then take it to Sensha-Ya (or any of the quick wash places). I'd say they're all pretty much the same with the only differentiation being service.

Do you mean provide a mobile service? Yes, if you have a suitable venue. That means indoor work area with at least 5' of CLEAR space around the vehicle. Depending on the area, driving time may be charged.

flash auto in Richmond right off the highway. Really good work.

Bumping old thread.

Looking to get some interior cleaning done in anticipation of a new born. I smoked daily in the car and have stopped now so just want it all cleaned up.

Preference is in Vancouver. Did some quick reading on Yelp as a starter and there are a few well reviewed places if anyone has any comments on them.
