The US really needs to start spending on their infrastructure like the New Deal. It boggles my mind why they don't have highspeed rail connecting the east and west coast. or do they?!?

It's finally time to retire the airplane. Don't worry about the hippies; they rather have this over a oil line that is prone to leaks and airplanes that use it.

vafanculo 06-03-2013 07:50 PM

It would be cool n all..but I'd imagine it would cost like 4 times the price of an airline ticket.

Imagine an accident at that speed.

The oods should probably be equivalent to an airplane crash.
A high-speed capsule going 4000mph and a Boeing 747 going 500mph will kill you all the same.

Explained why it'll be earthquake proof in the PDF

document makes it sound simple and cost effective... now they just need to get the people at the govemrnment level to accept it and fund it.... don't think that's going to happen any time soon since there are billions of dollars at stake and the people who stand to benefit from the old school railway construction will surely oppose this new development.

Ulic Qel-Droma 08-12-2013 06:35 PM

they just need all the billionaires in the world to ship in a small % of their money and they have 10billion to fund it.

10billion doesn't seem like that much, a lot of people could fully fund that themselves.

Would be a pretty slow acceleration to 4000mph, wouldn't want to spill your champagne.

I would guess 3 minutes or less.

xpl0sive 08-12-2013 07:12 PM

They are proposing a top speed of 700mph. Not sure where you got 4000mph from
