Car security advice
 

I've recently realized that my aftermarket wheels don't have wheel locks of any kind. I thought about getting them but I've seen how easily they are removed, especially the mainstream ones. What are some other solutions that are effective? Are there any good/effective digital tilt sensors?

And on the topic of car security, what kind of alarm/security systems are effective nowadays? I've done a bit of reading but there's so much out there and it's a bit overwhelming.

I have tinted windows and I keep valuables out of sight, but I have a double din that doesn't have a removable faceplate.

Pager alarm with tilt sensors. You can add wheels locks but nowadays those don't mean anything to thieves.

u can run 2 different kinds of wheel locks, will slow em down, kill switches are a good idea, distributor, ignition, fuel cut, stuff like that, removable wheel is good, if not then a club also works

As a specialist in vehicle security, I would have a few suggestions from my years of seeing peoples cars after they have been broken into.
Get an alarm with a flashing blue light that can be seen easily. Digital tilt sensors work perfectly. Add that as well as a glass breakage sensor & back-up battery.
Two way pagers work well, as long as you're within range. If you live on the 12th floor and park in P3, it won't work. That's why they have smart phone integration.
A loud alarm is like a loud dog. It's great when YOU can hear it, but if it's just a thief, then it just minimizes the time to be stealing from you.

Hiding the antenna is also a good thing to do when installing a two way security system. Draw back is decreased range but it sure prevents someone from pulling the window/frame back to reach in and unplug the antenna.

Compustar is your best bet with a digital tilt and shock sensor.

Thanks Keith. If I was working with a budget, what specific devices would you suggest? It sounds like all of that stuff together would add up pretty quickly.

What is your budget?

I got my compustar system from you guys, and my two-way pager works when I'm at home on the 16th floor, and I park in P1. There's no cell signal there however. - so it's essentially the opposite.

I would like to get the Drone system for when I'm at Metrotown and stuff...but it's $$$ lol

Important thing is to talk to a security specialist face-to-face so you can get a real hands on education about security systems.
There are things we dont like to discuss in forums because well, gotta be secure about that kind of stuff y'know?

Things can add up, just like at the grocery store. But much the same way, you want the quality stuff, right?
I'm sure that we can make a package deal for you that would get you the best security for your vehicle + get it within a budget that won't get you kicked out of your house.
You will need to come to one of our shops to get an accurate quote because we need to determine the exact scope of the job that you want/need.

The best security is to be aware where you park. Leave no crap around. I find even though backing in is a pain in the ass with an SUV etc, it limits people's trunk access... which leads me to the point below:

If you are afraid of wheels being stolen, park only against a wall and turn the wheels after you are in the stall and braked. Useful if your wheels are relatively wide. They won't pick wheels which are hard to access.
