Audi A7/S7 vs. BMW 6xx GC or?? Wife moved to US for a while now and she's looking to buy a car. We narrowed down the choice to Audi A7/S7 and BMW 6-serie GC. We need a car that can comfortably carry her, our 7 month old son, sometimes me (have been flying every weekend now) and often either her or my parents visiting (the baby), good trunk space (she runs researches and usually travel with few cases worth of stuff) while drives like a car rather a tank. (a la 7-serie/S-class) We like the look of BMW 6 GC, but comparing to A7/S7, the space feels a bit more limited. The A7/S7 lacks in term of driving experience. We both agree that BMW feels better when driving. So, there's a bit of tradeoff here and there. Any comments? We are open to other options. We tried Benz CLS class and we didn't like at all. And not really looking for SUV right now. |
car and driver already answered your question |
I'd take S7 (I actually like the S6 more) over 640/650 GC and CLS550 any day. |

But if you have to choose between the A7/S7/BMW 6 GC, I would choose the A7 or S7. |
sounds like she should get an suv im biased towards the s7 though |
S7 hands down. As much as I love the looks of the 6 series, I would still take the S7 over the 6 anyday for: 1. quattro system (perhaps with sport diff? don't know if it is available on the S7) 2. interior, both design and space 3. this is probably not a top priority, but with a tune you are looking at 1/4 mile time of 11.6s and 3.5s to 60mph |
A7/S7.... Can't beat the exterior look honestly, and that interior. :fuckyea: |

Agreed with marshall and broken arrow. Have you checked out the a/s6 or not considered it? Or even an s6 avant? |

A8L > all. Even if you have to buy it a year old. |
With the S7 you are pretty close to Panamera territory... and honestly Porsche service is a heck lot better than Audi's and usually they are engineered a bit better even though I know the share a lot of bits. |
Love the gran coupe but it's overpriced, I would go with the s7. |
the nice thing about the bimmer is that it has a middle seat that can accommodate a car seat. its pointless for anything else since theres a full length console, but it should hold a car seat just fine. i believe the a7 only has two seats in the back |
I'd take the A/S 7 over the 6 series, although the A7 and the S7 are quite far apart (in terms of pricing) |
s6 munched the m5 and wiped floor with the e63. s6 shares pretty much everything with the s7 except the driving dynamics. 7 is more of a gt car. i would still take the m5 anyday over the afformentioned, if they were the same price. they are far from it, ergo i would go with the s6/7 best of luck. |
Thanks for all the comments. My wife went to test drive a 2013 S7 last night and the sales person offered an incredible deal on the lease. She's picking it up early next week. :) |

Congrats! I honestly think you made a right choice. Posted via RS Mobile |
you'll love it |
Personally i like the feel and the drive of a BMW over a Audi hands down but for what you are looking for i think the Audi is a better call. Unless your wife is looking to hit the track with your 7 month old in the back seat :P |

gran coupe sucks balls. there is absolutely no space in the back seats. might as well go for the coupe. max if you got into the front seat of the GC I think the baby seat would have trouble fitting behind you. |
yep, ur 7's ballin though, nicer than gran coupe, as far as i can see, ill always be in coupes, rs5 is my next one or ttrs. this cls, a7 and GC marketing ploy isn't for me. funny you say about wheelslip, i was driving the jag and this c63 black wanted to take me uphill on granville and 16th, i pulled away laughing. god, ive turned from a rwd believer to awd numbnut with these audis and jags |
