WCB(worksafebc) question for my dad

Hi,

I need an advice regarding WCB (worksafebc). My dad work in a unionize environment that requires manual labor. To make the story short his manager and supervisor forced him to work even thou he told them that his shoulder is hurting. To make the matter worst the work that they want my dad to do is outside of his work description (helping out another department). This resulted my dad to pull his shoulder and a nerve.

Now the fun part....

WCB approved my dads case and they will check and talk to the director for further investigation. Even they know my dads case they still forcing him to work.

My question...

1. If WCB found out that they did something wrong to my dad will WCB or the company gave my dad extra compensation on top of the 90% regular WCB compensation?

2. My dad have a second part time work. It is unionize as well and its crown corporation. Will WCB cover his salary in this company as well?

3. What do you think our chances in winning the case if we file an actual complain. Will we get money for compensation if we win the case or just our rights?

Thanks a lot...... :)

What I'm getting from your post is:
will we get money?
will we get money?
will we get money?

What is the union saying? That's where I would start.

wait...he works in a union job? tell his boss to go fuck himself and call the shop steward.

Also, is he is so injured that he "can't" work and WCB has approved his case, why the fuck is he still going to work? He can't be "forced" to work and he won't be fired.

What are you looking for?

one job will pay as wcb, other may result as short term disability or leave of absence for short term.

your dad told them he had a bummed shoulder...was it reported to first aid? did he see a dr and fill out a form about what kind of work he could do(light duties)

but like dino said, tell the boss to fuck off and call the shop steward next time

If this is a legit union, he should talk to his "union rep" about the situation.
No higher up can force a worker to continue the same task once it has been brought to their attention that said worker is injured.

For the second job, he's probably shit out of luck, as the incident doesn't involve the second company. This should be talked about with WCB, as again, it doesn't involve the first company.

Overall, your dad might have to work, but it will be light duties and have no shoulder/arm involvement (ie: desk job). His union rep, should know all the information and should fight for his best intentions.

Thanks everyone.... for awesome inputs. The case was reported to union rep and all 3 person will be follow-up (manager, sup and director) and hopefully will be sent to training or suspension. My dad will be covered on both work and his currently in wcb.

Do you think we should report this to labor law? To be honest I'm totally mad and these idiots should be fired. Totally clowns....

and as per union rep we could file another complain in wcb for bullying...

Any inputs in this?
