Yamaha Bolt R? to buy or not to buy.. Has anyone had a chance to ride one yet or see one on the road? I'm leaning towards this for my first cruiser and eager to ride soon. Would like some feedback from the experienced riders. SPECS BELOW ENGINE - Air-cooled, SOHC, 8-valves, 60 degree, V-twin, 942cc BORE AND STROKE - 85 x83mm COMPRESSION RATIO - 9:1 MAXIMUM TORQUE - 8.2 kg-m (59.3 ft-lb) @ 3,000rpm FUEL DELIVERY - 35mm dual bore throttle body fuel injection FUEL CONSUMPTION± 20 kpl / 57 mpg (imp.) 5 speed FINAL DRIVE Belt SUSPENSION (FRONT) 41mm fork SUSPENSION (REAR) Preload adj. dual "piggyback style" premium gas shocks BRAKES (FRONT) 298mm disc / twin piston caliper BRAKES (REAR) 298mm disc / single piston caliper TIRES (FRONT) 100/90 x 19 TIRES (REAR) 150/80 x 16 LENGTH 2,290mm (90.2") WIDTH 830mm (37.2") HEIGHT 1,120mm (44.1") WHEELBASE 1,570mm (61.8") RAKE / TRAIL 29 degrees / 130mm (5.1") SEAT HEIGHT 690mm (27.2") FUEL CAPACITY 12 litres (2.6 Imp. gal.) Sweet looking ride, if you get it remember to post up pics! Revive the "lets go for a ride" thread too :D |
It's still 3-6 weeks away before they get the flat grey r spec version in, I'm putting my deposit down tomorrow. Might grab some accessories too, thinking fork gaters, bullet cowl, and custom pegs. First cruiser bike so I'm pretty excited!! I've been to a few of the RS meets with my 350z, how are the bike meets/rides? Posted via RS Mobile |
relatively the same price, why choose the wanna be but not the real HD sportster? |
My buddy bought a Bolt at Daytona last week. He loves it. Posted via RS Mobile |
beautiful bike. Posted via RS Mobile |
Was tempted to get one of these. It was between a Triumph Bonneville or the Yammie Bolt R. I decided to stick to bicycling. :okay: |
Why a Bolt over a Sportster 883? Better bike. |
So, I feel guilty as Patrick over at Daytona was very helpful.. But after much deliberation I have decided to get the HD Iron 883 in black denim.. Yes the yamaha is faster, yes the yamaha is smoother, and yes the yamaha has better brakes.. But the fit and finish on the Iron 883 is far superior after seeing them both up close.. I will be picking it up tomorrow and will post some pics once its safely back home.. Im a big supporter of Jap and Euro everything so this is a big leap for me buying a domestic.. My "this is the one" moment was when I sat on the bike, fired it up, and heard the throaty Frap of the exhaust note.. Instantly I felt like a badass ready to cruise the streets for no other reason other than self gratification.. It's a bike with soul (I know that might sound cheesy) and I guess that's what it's all about at the end of the day? Hopefully everyone won't mind riding with a baby Harley :D :fuckyea: Attachment 17525 |
