Replacing FOB

Both of my FOB's have deceided to break where they hook to your keyring in the last week. Anyone able to tell me how to replace? Not sure on the alarm in the car as it was installed by prev owner. Do you have to a replacement fob based on the alarm, or the frequency? I see tons of fobs for sale on ebay, but how do you program them to work on your specific system?

depending on the fob, you could just buy a cheap one off ebay and swap the electronics to the new one -- assuming its just the housing broken on your fob

Good idea. I guess I just have to hope that the shape is close enough to match the circuts in my fob.

If you bring it in to a car stereo shop, they can probably tell you what kind it is, how much for a new shell, how much for a new remote & if it needs to be replaced or not. Always check your local specialists for this stuff. It's so much easier than sending things back to the internet.

I took a washer kind of melted it in place, used glue to secure it. Looks a little rough but it worked.
