My grandpa sent me this pic of when I was 17 in my e30 just over 10 years ago.

I think the fact I haven't seen an unmolested one in person makes them that much more desirable.

I've since found what I was looking for, I've moved downtown, sold my big 5 series and purchased a 1991 318is with 148k on the clock...pretty much completely stock aside from;

-euro IS side skirts
-euro ellipsoids with HID
-euro fogs with HID
-euro plate filler (have oem one as well)
-cat back exhaust
-billy sport shocks/struts & eibach springs

body is straight, no rust whatsoever...interior has the factory leatherette in mint shape (save for 1 inch slit on drivers seat), mint dash, m-tech wheel etc...

So far I've,

-swapped to e36 steering rack
-powder coated intake manifold and valve cover krinkle black
-new valve cover gaskets, spark plug well gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, throttle body gasket etc..,
-replaced all heater and coolant hoses
-air filter, fuel filter, fuel line hoses, spark plugs etc...
-ALL fluids flushed and changed (gearbox/diff/motor switched to synthetic)
-chipped ecu (dinan)
-new audio system with hands free, usb, sub etc..
-16x8 BBS RS reps (just waiting to wrap in new rubber)

Car is a blast to drive...super easy to wrench on and pretty great on fuel
