SkinnyPupp 06-26-2013 01:05 AM

lol @ buying a car to attract women

As for me I'd get a Vantage Roadster if it falls within the price range (no idea)

Timpo 06-26-2013 01:47 AM

I would say Ferrari or Lamborghini

Timpo 06-26-2013 01:48 AM

oh yeah, Lotus Evora is way under $80k if you buy it used.

CP.AR 06-26-2013 01:49 AM

NSXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

You can get a pretty decent one for 80k I'm sure.

Other than that..
maybe phone up Anthony and get him to hook you up with an IS-F ;)

SpeedStars 06-26-2013 02:00 AM

GTR imo, reliable, doesn't look dated, and you can track it erryday.

If you want a pussy magnet, get a Bentley dressed in chrome and drive it down east Hastings. You'll be pimpin.

...quite literally :smug:

I understand the whole "lightweight" thing, but come on, Lotus. My mom's Civic has nicer interior materials. Rattling coming from every corner, and you can feel every crack in the concrete.

If your date is wearing a skirt or dress, there is no way she can sit down while looking decent.

wait... ur comparing a track car that can be driven on the streets to an econo car thats meant to save u gas and gets u from point a to point b????
:fulloffuck::fulloffuck::fulloffuck:

get a GTR

Get better taste in women and you'll have a lot more options for cars.

Teknique 06-26-2013 06:23 AM

Any girl I've ever dated, and 90% of their friends have never bat an eyelash when a nice car drives by. You can drop the pussy magnet requirement of your car, girls don't really care as long as it has 4 wheels and she's not embarrassed to be seen in it. Only guys like us would whip around to stare at a nice ride.

Buy it for you, pick something you really enjoy driving. Personally I'd go Porsche Cayman, I've always wanted something mid-engine.

melloman 06-26-2013 06:54 AM

Yup.. 80k would get me:

Lotus Exige
NSX
M3 Convertible

Considering I doubt maintenance would be an issue for you. :D

How about an M6?

freakshow 06-26-2013 09:08 AM

if i had 80k for a weekend car, i probably wouldn't spend it by internet consensus

Hondaracer 06-26-2013 09:31 AM

I'd be going with the viper or a ZR1 used perhaps, real cars.

complains about the stripped out interior, lack of sound deafening and stiff suspension in a track car

I'd rather spend 80k on a car to fuck and chuck some gold diggers, and be left with an 80k car and syphilis than spend 80k on hookers and only have syphilis.

I'd rather spend money on pros who know what they are doing and care about safety than some dirty skanks who fuck dudes because they drive expensive cars

I've been in the same situation for two years now. Lusting over a nice car so I can trade my STi and get into something pimp. But what?

Ferrari? No chance. I'm familiar with the "electronic" Ferraris and they're buttloads of cash to maintain. It's one thing to have $80k to spend on a car. It's a whole other one to spend $5-8k/yr to keep it running in top condition. And before someone argues with me on that, the last track day I took my dad to cost him almost $2k for new brakes, valve adjustments, and a post track day tune up. My STi needed a wash, and gas.

R8? No V10!!! fuck that...... it's definitely an awesome car, but lacks that "wow" factor that so many other cars have. If it was my second $80k car, then yeah. But give me something really cool first.

R35? I checked out both an R35, and an M3 the other day. Both were boring as fuck. The nerd gamer in me loves the R35, but the adult in me knows the RCMP traffic squad would wait by my driveway every morning for the chance to take it from me.

Porsche? Yawn. Every mainlander who can't afford a Lambo has one, and frankly outside of the GT series, they're kind of boring. But the GT3, now that's hawt. And more than $80k.

Maserati? Meh. All the cost of owning a Ferrari without the badge.

I even started looking at the Mercedes options like the C and E63 series. Those cars are tire burners, that's all. The SL series is for chicks, and the S and CLS class don't seem like they're nice to drive.

Now the G-wagen, that's a vehicle I could get behind. But for $80k, you're getting a 7 year old US import.
Booo!

Honestly, and I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I am seriously considering an FR-S with a supercharger, and use the leftover $45k to build a swimming pool.

Yeah, that's a good plan. Who wants to come over for a swim?
:D

Timpo 06-26-2013 11:37 AM

^ what about elise with supercharger?

TjAlmeida 06-26-2013 11:38 AM

Ej25 FR-S

And you still got change to do the Rocket Bunny kit that a lot of locals are doing.

dared3vil0 06-26-2013 11:38 AM

^^^ What does your dad drive out of curiosity? As for your weekend car, look into a C6 Z06. 7.0L's of fury.

Timpo 06-26-2013 11:40 AM

:D

at least someone knows what I'm talking about lol...
I've had a CLS and an S class before. They are definitely nice to drive. I miss my CLS for the raw power that it had... 500whp is great, but once again, with today's laws, it would be impounded right away. The S class is a big cruiser and not very "fun". I disagree with the fact that an SL is a chick's car. But for a fun car, I would want something with a 6 speed... the auto tranny in the Merc's sucks... as far as buying a C63, I couldn't get myself to spend that kind of money on a C class.
Another option I saw was a CLK63BS, but you can't import them to Canada :(. That would be an awesome fun car, even though it doesn't come in manual

I've got an X5 right now for a daily, which is nice to drive and I enjoy it. But I miss having a "fun" car.
When I had my supra, I would look forward to driving it every sunny day possible. Take the targa top off and take it to White Rock or Mission or something. But the lack of traction made that car a handful at times and it was such a dick magnet I got tired of all the attention from guys.

I never said that I'm looking for a car to get girls. I don't have any trouble getting girls, with or without a nice car. As some one said, most girls don't really care what car you drive, as long as it's not a piece of junk.

I don't want a Lotus, because I would never have time to take it to the track, and driving around in a track car on our city's wonderful streets would become a pain in my ass.... literally....

If I liked Porsches, I would buy a 997 Turbo, but I just don't like them.

I was looking at Aston Martin's yesterday, and there are 2008-9 DB9 Volante's for around $80k, or a 10-11 Vantage for around the same price. The only thing that scares me about the DB9 is the V12 and the cost of having to fix it.
