Easy solutions to scratches on car? 3 Attachment(s) Hey everyone, I was washing my car today and I noticed a thin line from the front side of my car to the end of the drivers door today. It's not a very deep scratch but it's still noticeable. What is the best way to go about fixing this scratch? |
If it were my car, I'd just get the surface as clean as possible and start buffing. |
that looks like some material transferred onto your car(plastic?) anyways, a rubbing compound or polish should take it off. |
I'd try clay first. Hard to tell if it's even a scratch or something on top of the paint. |
polishing time! wash the car, clay it and then polish it with some meguiars |
ya that will easily come off with a polishing compound |
or even a light solvent would probably do. I'd try that first before polishing it off as that takes more work lol |
Try running your nail across the scratch. If your nail catches onto the scratch, it's probably not going to buff out. If no catch, then have fun using some sort of polish, or some of those scratch removers. |
^ +1, if you can't feel it something like ScratchX will work wonders. |
Looks like everyone here has it covered. It's probably rubber/plastic transfer and can be cleaned/polished out. Now, what to do about your door handle.......... :troll: |
i had something similar to that with my car just washed and rubbed some polish and it came right off |

That is an easy fix with polish. I had some smaller scratches on my car and a quick hand polish got them out in 30minutes. Posted via RS Mobile |
