you can just set it in the Civ V profile to disable it

I would occasionally get those, the solution for me on an Intel IGP was to set the leader scene quality lower. Give that a try

Don't know why Xfire doesn't work for you. I'm using the latest stable drivers.

Edit: After reading SP's post, I've had the intro movie disabled for years. Maybe that's it.

Just beat Civ V with the new expansion, cultural victory. Its SO much better now! Did it in about 400 turns on a 'huge' map on 'king' mode. Got kind of lucky since most of the other civs weren't war mongering. I had a nice little corner of the map, and didn't need to fight for territory. In fact I didn't build any military at all, just kept going for culture and tourism.

Byzantine was also going for culture, so they built a lot of the tourist buildings I needed. So it probably took a lot longer than it could have. I was Carthagan btw

I had about $.50 in my account at the beginning of the sale and throughout the week I kept selling those cards for about $0.12 to $.20 and ended up with $2.50... enough to purchase FTL.
