Anyone know of any prestigious yacht design firms/builders in the North West? |

No pictures of the Azzam's interior yet. -did find a video of a pretty luxurious interior of this yacht named Nirvana. According to the video, it's ranked 43rd in the 100 largest yachts of 2012. -just need some 'Hos and you are good to go! :) |

>spend 605 million on a boat. >own it for 3 years, spend 180 million just to operate the thing. >Sell it for a loss, probably 400 million >385 million dollars flushed down the crapper >because it's awesome I know I can't greentext here, but i felt like I needed to. Such a ridiculously over excessive culture we live in where there's a top 100 list of super yachts. Hope they get taxed for that purchase instead of going through their bs Luxemburg bank account. |

turns out the yacht I took a pic of leaving coal harbor (Serene) is 440 feet and owned by the owner of Stoli Vodka - it cost 330M. |
So there?s this megayacht parked outside our office (10 Photos) : theCHIVE The 450 ft. yacht boasts an onboard helicopter, a 50-foot pool on the upper deck, multiple lounges, bars, and spas. The serene even carries a submarine built for two. The Serene has 12 state rooms and can accommodate almost 30 overnight guests. But aside from this, not much is known. |
This is also a pretty special one a few years ago. Built by Blohm & Voss in Germany, designed by Philippe Starck (who also worked on a yacht for the late Steve Jobs). http://blog.luxuryproperty.com/wp-co...yacht-a-10.jpg Guess how much to fill in the tank? US$1.4 million. Imperial Hotel Management College: Introducing ?A? |
Philippe Starck yachts that have been built are incredibly ugly. His concepts are far more luxurious and aesthetically pleasing. Last fall, I've had the opportunity to take a specialized marine design class at Art Center in Pasadena and the school flew in a couple of yacht designers including Glade Johnson (who is based in Seattle) every week to give us feedback on our projects. I'll be taking another marine class this Fall and hopefully land an internship for a yacht builder next year. |

One hospital, who cares Posted via RS Mobile |
i'd mount a few canons and .50 cals on the side. |

Ironworkers Electricians Plumbers Engineers Architects Master carvers (if there's wood involved in the design) Mechanics etc etc etc It's not simply a matter of money being dumped down a deep, dark well, never to be seen again... It's being used to employ hundreds of people, not just for the construction phase, but over it's life it will employ dozens of people to upkeep and repair it. Would the world be better off with another hospital? Maybe. But this is in no means a pure waste of money. And are people not allowed to spend their own money on things they want? Or should we all drive around in the cheapest car available, while living in the most meagre of homes and eating the barest of necessities to keep ourselves alive and instead give the rest of our earnings to random people? Sure, that may work for you, but I prefer to drive around in a car with leather seats and a gas guzzling engine, and then go home to a large piece of property and sprawl out on a big leather sectional and watch TV on my big screen while eating a steak and drinking an import beer. I earned that money myself, so I'm damn well gonna spend it on what I want. |

People can get one built for cheaper, but ordering one takes 5-10 years and when rich ppl want something, they usually want it now regardless of price (at least when the economy is good... |

So...a lot of these resources are in-fact wasted, dumped into a deep dark well, never to be seen again... Which reminds me of a Warren Buffett quote: Quote:
make your own 600 millions and you can do whatever you want with it.. |
