I don't understand this choice. The guy is 46. If they plan on having a long franchise with these guys shouldn't they get someone younger?

apparently they are looking for an older Bruce Wayne..someone in their 40's

I think Brolin would fit that role well. I also think Fassbender would be a great pick.

Ya because the movie script will be based mostly on the dark knight returns where Bruce is almost 60. Also they think having an older batman makes more sense to counter the younger inexperienced Clark.

I disagree with this though. I don't see any problems with having a younger Bruce and still out smarting Clark. Again, if you want this to be long term you'll need younger actors.

Brolin would be an awesome old Batman.

I'm not feeling Ryan Gosling though. Thinking of him as Batman reminds me of Brosnan playing Bond. I'm sure he could play the character and a bunch of people would enjoy it but it's not believable for me. He doesn't have that bad motherfucker look, I dunno it's hard to explain.

DanHibiki 08-05-2013 12:43 AM

Ryan gosling as Bruce Wayne is okay but can't see him as batman.

StylinRed 08-05-2013 02:20 PM

ryan gosling? :fuckthatshit: maybe as the flash since he plays the goofy guy wonderfully but he's been trying to drop that image ever since leaving breaker high
but just being the silent unemotional expressionless guy won't last long or carry him farther and batman is far from unemotional/expressionless

DanHibiki 08-05-2013 02:24 PM

I can't even see him as flash so no.

christian bale was perfect for batman. he was the right age, right built; also has that dark intimidating crazy look (maybe from american psycho) and can kick ass yet can woo women at the same time.

will be tough shoes to fill.

StylinRed 08-07-2013 01:27 AM

Since they're going for an Old Batman

I would really really really really really really like to see Michael Keaton be Batman again :)

He's 61 now but with some training/juice/HGH he could do imo :D and it would be awesome :D

doesn't look too bad

I guess comics just aren't for me.. I tried watching that Flashpoint animation people are raving about... just can't watch it.. I don't want to put anyone down who likes this stuff, but it just doesn't do it for me. If I was 13-16 I absolutely would have LOVED it, I'm sure.

I guess that explains why I didn't like Avengers or most superhero movies.. Well I liked Spiderman...

StylinRed 08-07-2013 06:02 PM

flashpoint was a great comic story line that is it was a fun read while on the can :)

the animated movie was bleh

DanHibiki 08-07-2013 06:10 PM

I liked the animated movie. It was different from the other DC animated movies because it was much darker and bleek. That world looked hopeless.

SkinnyPupp 08-07-2013 06:48 PM

It would have been dark if not for all the goofy characters with silly names in their whacky costumes

"I'm the Flash! I'm a superhero!"

rsx 08-07-2013 06:55 PM

totally agree. i don't understand why people loved Flashpoint, it was nothing. under the red hood was probably the only good one.

If the rumours are true, Warner Bros. offered $50 million dollars to convince Christian Bale to reprise the role of the Dark Knight in Justice League. -might even include playing Batman in the Man of Steel 2.

I don't know if he'd be interested if it's directed by Zac Snyder. It's going to be a goofball movie, and his portrayal of Batman doesn't really fit in.

False rumors taken out of context from some book.

BEN AFFLECK IS BATMAN

I'm sorry everyone for what I'm about to say but this is no joke....

Quote:

Ending weeks of speculation, Ben Affleck has been set to star as Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne. Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder’s as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director’s vision of their universe, which he established in “Man of Steel.” The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. The film is slated to open on July 17, 2015.

n the announcement, Silverman stated, “We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some. His outstanding career is a testament to his talent and we know he and Zack will bring new dimension to the duality of this character.” Snyder also expressed his excitement about the casting of Affleck, noting, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

His Batman movies may not really stand the test of time and they may not have that Nolan realism aspect, but I still to this day think he was an excellent Batman AND Bruce Wayne.

Others can do one and not the other.

Batman and Superman movie will be filmed in Toronto. The better tax credits in Ontario, 25 percent of all production costs, compared to B.C's 33 percent of only labour costs like wages may be the big reason for the move of the film production.

-sad news for our BC economy. :-(
