Mad props for pulling it off but it blows my mind that that's the best trick in the history of surfing... I guess it is because it looks so deceptively similar to snowboarding and yet snowboarding has reached such incredible heights on the tricks being done.

To pull a trick off like that without having the board strapped to your feet it out of this world!

Found another pic of him doing it another occasion....shit is intense!!

was a sweet trick. ive never really watched the sport, but wouldn't it be similar to skateboarding how its not attached to your feet?

are they able to do like kickflip style tricks on a surfboard as well? o.0

I know nothing about snowboarding, skateboarding, or surfing, but the first two are done on land. You have some control over the conditions of what you're 'boarding on, but you have zero control over wave conditions - so that must make surfing all the more difficult.

Its all about physics.

Kick flip....not even close to a common trick though...

I can tell you that at times, it can be terrifying.

I was held under in Oregon for a few waves after I had the wind knocked out of me. I really thought I was going to die.

For the next 4 days I have salt water leaking out my nose and ears....so gross.
