| Good pub/restaurant suggestion
Have some friends from out of town here, what's a good place to go in the Vancouver area to just sit down, have a few beers and shoot the shit.

I'm going to assume you want to take advantage of the patio weather we've been having. Perhaps take them to The Local Public Eatery by Kits Beach (FYI - Parking can be a bitch.) Or maybe the pubs/bars underneath the Burrard Bridge? There's the Tap and Barrel at the Olympic Village but the wait times are absurd (in my opinion anyway.)
My favourite watering hole is The Cascade on Main Street but there is no patio (just a lot of hipsters.) Great service and chill atmosphere. The people there are great and nothing near pretentious. Just a nice spot to grab a few drinks and to shoot the shit. There are probably more which I've forgotten so hopefully others chime in.

+1 for cascade room. Busy enough and social enough you can sleaze on some girls. Chill enough that you can sit down and have a convo. Good food to wash the beer down with too.

Chill Winston to eat and drink. Then downstairs to Guilt for some more beverages, and possibly a cheese platter

I loved the Tap and Barrel when we went last year.
I had a Sasquach Stout and Poutine Burger... I think my gf had the PB&J Burger.
I remember useless things like exactly what people ate at restaurants

Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood Pub
it's around kingsway and clark? pretty close to monkey king tattoo.
I use to go there a lot when I was in the early 20s, decent service, good food and good price. Perfect for hockey games.

But as a Burnaby kid, it would be illegal if we didn't say the Foggy Dew aint bad for some cheap eats. Burgers, nachos etc etc. Drink specials are good too!
